I've got no doubt they'll prosecute them. By the very fact it was in TV and folk who don't give a flying f**k about hare coursing - and probably still don't - will have seen it and the police will view that as a high profile enough reason to take it on. Manna from heaven for plod!! It was a good programme and I thought if anything the guys were a wee bit gullible in allowing themselves to be filmed. I do wonder if the BBC will find themselves in the shit too though - they filmed it!!! And the farmer - has he colluded in the illegal act????

right first things first, these people are not gypsies, they are what is left of the highland traveller tradition, secondly the way the sun wrote that peice should be f*****g investigated it smacks or

People happily sit at home watching tribes from different countries hunting food to eat and this was no different. The traditional travelling people in this country are part of rural life whether peop

That's the kind of comments i would expect from people who buy and read the sun newspaper, the only time i would look at the sun is if the wind blow it open at page3.

I thought coursing was banned in 2005?

It says 2002 in that news clip? !!

I think fair play to them, they did it for a bit of sport and ate the hares after and not throw them away.

By the way, i can not seem to get the ip,player to work over here in Ireland, anyone know how to get round this? I would love to watch it..

fair play to them, if i had a caravan full of kids to feed i'd run summer hares, at least they ate them and not just dumped them in the hedge like some do, theres good and bad in all walks of life, and at least they arnt scrounging benifits out the country like alot of the work shy idol feckers round here

Lovely uk law springs in to stop people from feeding themselfs added to the fact people will now talk down about the sport based on one event, wonderfull!

To be honest I reckon the average man in the street won't have a problem with the hare coursing sequence that was broadcast the other night. They'll see it for what it was. And there was no negative bullshit propaganda and falsehoods tagged onto it. That'll all be to come if this thing grows legs tho!!!

Could be a good thing if this grows legs, get a more normal side out there, the city still believes that the ban was all about hoorays on horse back hunting down charlie with 50 odd dogs.

Most don't realise that a man and his running dog filling the pot, which is a romantic thought in many s eyes, is now illegal and carries jail time.

But they did let me post this

Funny i bet all you's eat meat?? to easy just to go buy it from a shops and let other people do the killing for you eh!!

If you can't or wont kill to eat meat you have Know bloody right eating it! and them hares were not RIPPED to pieces.

you bloody fools, how would they be any good to eat if they were?? I will point out to you that 700+ vets say hunting with dogs is not cruel or barbaric, have a read http://www.vet-wildlifemanagement.org.uk/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

Now look at shooting you can have the best shot placement in the world, all it takes is for the wind to be a few MPH more at 300+ yards, and you will wing the fox/deer/hare/ rabbit, and they will limp off not to be seen again, and if they are lucky they will be dead in a few hours , if not you could be talking weeks months for them to die!

I was born to hunt and will never stop FTB
