I've done a number of trips, that one was with a girl (my girlfriend at the time), and the only time i have had someone else there for the whole trip. We took a somewhat modified, old citreon hatchbac

Strange this should pop up but I was just saying to the wife the other week that if we ever broke up, that would be me, vamoose , gone off the grid whatever   None of this Thailand bollocks, just a

everytime i consider getting a divorce i start to dwell on this idea, me and the dogs travelling around europe catching our own food etc.... then reality kicks in, ie; money matters, theres some necessitys that you have to have money in your pocket for http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/sad.gif

If i'd have had two pennies to rub together after my divorce i'd of done it then definately, i guess it all depends on what you can do without, whether you have a house to rent to cover your mortgage etc etc....

Ali, your right, one of the reasons i love Lincolnshire is because the way of life seems slower....

im sure someone will correct me if im wrong, but my aunt lived in sleaford.which is in lincolnshire i think?absouletely great place and had many a good holiday in the summer there.my cousin and uncles were in the raf in fact think most people that lived there were connected to the raf.always said one day id like to move there, was what i always imagined a nice english village to be like.

im from that area, lived there for a few years (sleaford, ruskington, cranwell, holbeach), is it RAF cranwell your on about?

I'm from that area as well , never thought sleaford was much to write home about seems like a holding pen for the Jeremy Kyle show to me ?

None of this Thailand bollocks, just a van , me a dog and as much as I'd need to get established somewhere ....

I really fancy the idea one day of just sailing away into the distance, meander over Europe , swing through the dark Russian corridor to Mongolia and retrace it through the stans and the Middle East to Africa and loop round it

Just cash a passport and a toothbrush lol

I dont get why anyone needs to go to those shitholes...this country is amazing.

I dreamt of living on a canal boat, off grid. This year I finally had enough and ended up going from a semi detached house in suburbia to a caravan...when I was on my own I was living the dream but it got a bit hard when my daughter came down.

Getting the bills down to almost nothing is a really nice feeling, if/when I dump the missus I will definitely do something like that....no need to live like a tramp, you can get by on a small amount of cash if you try :)

Simo left the site shortly starting this thread,I wonder how far his wanderlust carried him?

A lifesaving operation clipped his flightfeathers but 'every cloud' an all that... ;)

I always liked to think he had gone on to bigger and better things after the book,i wasnt around when he dissapeared,i went wander for a year or so,when i came back he had vanished like kaiser sorze, hope he is keeping well?

I have wandered a few times,I read a book on marco polo as a kid and thought it sounded well cool,i did most of the silk route once except iran or persia as it used to be called,i applied for the visa for iran in islamabad,i was near there anyway, got a letter of introduction from the british embassy, presented it with my visa app and left,i went back after six weeks kicking around in baluchistan and the visa had been refused so I never got to do the full silk route overland, shit happens.
