Mousetail owned by Michael and June Collins possibly the luckiest dog ever to win a Waterloo Cup robbed Glatton General behind the judges back

Teds Move won a track dog coursing stake and winner got Mark Prescott's nomination for the Waterloo Cup famously killed 5 hares and 2 burglars on his way to winning it another very fast dog with a good mouth

Dick Houghton retired as Lord Levenhulme's greyhound trainer and George Rimmer both lived on Altcar great characters, sadly Stuart Wilcock died shortly after retiring and not long after Dick Houghton died as well, Sam B took over as headkeeper but after the last Waterloo the estate was split up and Sam was working for a syndicate, Richard his underkeeper left and was working the doors in Manchester

Crafty Tessie winning the first year we went ,93 I think.

Then was it in 95 when it was cancelled because of Snow? We couldn't get a flight home and were drunk for a week.

Always great coursing.

Went a couple of times plenty of hares and a great laugh on the bankside lol.

Only thing that did my head in was a good killing dog was not wanted as a kill only got one point how can that do any breed bred to chase any good i will never know

my first waterloo cup, i remember all the antis,getting thrown in the dykes as our transit pulled up and a big fight broke out, they came off worse and the police turned a blind eye, sitting on the bank eating a leg of venison, with red current jelly, and here and there winning the cup, and on the wayback singing hunting songs, and stopping for a pee about every 2 miles, tooks us ages to get home, and then in the pub when we do get back , what a day, iwas only a lad, and we went with the herts working terrier and lurcher club,happy days, ill drink to that

having a good time driving over to it with my mates, sometimes in blizzards, towing our little touring caravan snaking like f@ck the scarisbrick pub, "sam the man", sharing whisky out of a bottle with the irish,the size of the place, the number of hares, the quality of the land, the roar of the crowd, the number of spectators on the bank, meeting up with old friends, and people i hadnt seen for some time, the police, frenzied anti,s in fancy dress with banners.,........ nights out in southport with other dog lads we dont even know, "petite glory" february 2005 "shashi", a drive home with worried thought,s about the future.
