Little lurcher the dog David Pike bred my bitch of was a very old dog called Ashy (some where I have an old picture of him and the bitch David kept back for himself) the bitch he used I think came for the Norfolk area called Fruit Cake a bitch with a lot of collie in her, unfurtunetly David thought he was going to breed some thing better and use a first cross beddy we had to continue his line, the last time I met him he had 5 generations of these lurchers all like peas in a pod has they do they all reverted to the beddy cross, fawn rough haired not what he had all them years a go, he was happy

I know nothing of M r Burral only what I have seen in his ad in the countrymans weekly, but I have been out and about many times with Warrens young pup, I dont Know if all the lurcher breed this way are the same, but the only two that I know of seem good honest working type dogs, the other is about 3 1/2 to 4 years old and is a cracking animal, like has been said already I dont suppose for one minuet every dog out of this mans kennels is a world better of yesteryear and what we have all been lead to belive over the years that, that is the legendery norfolk lurcher, many years ago I owned a bit

Over the last season I have hunted many times with warren( Brian Chipper Smith) off this site and his malinois bitch Fizz, she is an exellent hunter and ferreting dog very powerfull and just keeps on going all dayI have yet to see any thing match her staying power, Chipper is talking about putting a greyhoundxwhippet over her this year, for the only thing she lacks is a little speed, I also had the pleasure of seeing a first cross owned by a friend of Chipper work last season a big strong black dog that could jump like a deer and was doing exellent in the field, has a base for a lurcher I see

Happydays, just got in the office and theres a message on the phone from yesterday after noon, Mike looks like you have a kennel, when the lads get in I will see if any one will work back to night and we can have it up for you this evening
-
The kennels are constructed so that the sleeping compartment lifts out first the top then the front and lastly the base to aid cleaning, if you have a dog or pup that chewsthe front panle is esayly replaced, costing about £10 instead of having a dog chew the front of the shed it sleeps in ,if they chew it always seems to be when they lay in the sleeping compartment and they chew the entrence hole

sorry lads thought I had edited my post my kennel was £850, exdisplay £500 no offers Mike had been quoated £450 the timber for a double 4mt x 2mt kennel would cost more than that, weld mesh has gone up 45% in the last month due to the rise in steel prices, take in to acount labour costs rent and advertising and this is a very unrealistice price, but if some how noddy can make them for this price good on him and Im sure he will never be short of work
-
Mike have PMed you dont know if you have got it,I dont know how noddy is going to do the job for the price he has quoated you, I would have no chance of working to that price doulbe kennel 4mt x2mt, I would like to know where he gets his timber, I have an exdisplay that a guy was going to pick up this weekend, he has not turned up so I will ring him in the morning and see if he still wants it if not its yours, it only 7 1/2ft by 8ft, if I have to make you one I could maybe fit you in, in about two weeks time sorry Mike but this is the best I can do at such short notice

The big box in my pickup was a mark1 to see what pit falls there would be to making a large dog box to fit pick ups, it not that good really, have made a few since, one for a hawk lad who wanted one side for his pointer and theother for his bird, one that was much the same as the one pictured but with split leavels so the boxes where double decker to get terriers in, and I starting one this week for a lad who shoots and has a couple of cockers he wants drawers in the bottom for his guns and bits and pieces, the quoat he had from a company in yorkshire to make the box to fit inside his canopy w

got a copy of this exellent little book this week, most people know I have knocked the odd nail in over the years, but this book is so well layed out and the plans easy to follow I dont thing any one would have a problem making there own traps in fact I think we will see a big jump this season in the posts in the traping section of this site when ever one gets out and about with there home made traps
-
Thanks Titch, no teeth in the dog food but I don't know any terriers with an arse as big as our Micky's

This is a picture of my apperenttice micky who wieghs in at just under 16 stone in old money, thats 100 kgs, and 15 bags of sneyeds wonderdog at 15 kgs each all together thats 250kgs. So for one of my boxes to quickly fall apart as said by deputydog, this box that his friend had must of taken some serious abuse, the box in the picture has also been carted about to a few shows one of which was Selby and if any of you where there this year you will know it wasn't the best of weekends, so its been chucked in and out of the van a few times moved around the shop which has just had a refit, used to
