The cupped one is my preferred at the min, have been firing both throughout today and it just feels natural and accurate.
The other one ain't bad though but I just prefer the cupped.
Not sure if I'm going to keep it or maybe get rid if anyone shows any interest.
Ye that one does feel nice.
The bottom one has a bulge in the wood that I have left in which fits in the hand quite nice when it's held by the stem rather than the forks.
I have to say it was like being a kid again, me and old man was doing a bit of axe throwing in local wood and I saw a fork so we decided to find a couple and make one each to have a bit of competition. Have to day though me dad was the one who taught me all about using a knife so I don't hold much hope compared to what his will turn out like lol.
Good fun though and still got a few more that I'm going to have a go with and see how they turn out
I'm right in saying I should trim all edges of the piece I get before start cutting strips?
People have recommended 20-25mm width but if me forks are smallish will I be alright to cut them to fit forks?
Just a quick one again.
I've seen and heard people using different amounts of therband gold on the catties.
Would a single length be enough to kill somet or would you have use at least 2?
Just wondering that's all
Hi all,
Right, even though I've got one coming soon that's been made by someone who knows what he's doing, I decided to have a little crack at one mesen.
I've used only a Saw, Knife, Sandpaper, and some Flaxseed Oil.
What's everyone think???
I make all mine up myself, and funnily enough they keep going missing after days out and even more funny my mates keep acquiring snares that look incredibly like mine lol.
Once you have got te wire and hoops etc there not too difficult to make pal.
