Thanks all, yes I'm going to do it as he has requested but just wondered other people's experiences as never been asked to do it before but been approached a few times but my perm slip has always sorted things
Hi all,
Ive just gained some permission on some local land for Rabbits. The land itself has a few football & rugby pitches on as well as some open areas.
The land isnt used in an evening and is closed to the public and gates are locked.
Anyway ive had the relevant person sign a permission slip that I get people to sign and keep with my insurance just in case I ever get approached by the law or passer by to say I have the right to be on the land.
They have requested that I inform the local police that I have permission and will be on the land occasionally. (Which I havent got a proble
I think the idea is if you don't have constant access to land with game but you want the pup to get excited with rabbit or pheasant scent then you can use this on a dummy and pull it around the land to create a trail and then get the dog out.
Hi all,
Just working on my new Ruff Stick getting it all shaped etc. Will be using it for Beating and knocking about with.
I am just after some advice from the experienced lads about what to put on the bottom.
Without measuring it exactly I would say it's Atleast an inch in diameter so a cartridge brass is out of the question, any suggestions what I can do to prevent wear.
Also if possible I would like it not to be too glossy as my other sticks when using Varnish. Is there anything else I can use to pretect it from the thrashing and the elements without making it glossy?
Cheers all in adv
Hi all,
I've got a BSA S10 which I have to screw the air bottles into.
I just wondered, apart from the obvious are there any differences / Benefits for one or the other?
Who you get it off?
Won't be long till you get yourself a natty.
I tried similar ones to yours but decided to move to natties and ain't looked back. Got a good few, some I hardly use, one I use all time, youngun has got one lol
I'm not an expert by any measure but by the looks of the catty it's designed for bands rather than tubes.
Tubes are generally attached by threading through a whole and then wrapping together.
Unless one of the more experienced guys on here know any different you might want to drill a whole in each fork.
I agree with covert that a lot of the jackets that you can get are more towards the toffs to wear on the street or with suits etc but after having a good look at the old classics I still think they will do the job and last a long time
Well I've been today and picked and purchased a Northumbria.
I'm pretty tall and all the others didn't seem to give me the length that I wanted.
Cracking coat and even though It's the heaviest weight it doesn't feel too heavy if that makes sense.
Turns out anything with Classic in the name means it's treated with Sylkoil and the others are another sort of thornproof wax. The Northumbria is the "Classic" version of the Border.
Anyway been given permission to have it straight away so will be breaking it in on Tuesday but no doubt it will do great!
Cheers everyone for input.
Oh and by the w
Just been informed that I am getting a new Barbour Wax Coat for Xmas but I have to decide which one I want.
I need to go and have a proper look soon but after a quick look on the old internet I quite like the traditional look of the Beaufort (there is a classic Beaufort and also a Beaufort so not sure exactly what the difference is). The Sapper also look pretty good.
Anyway just thought I'd see what the lads on here have to say and if they have any opinions.
Also if someone can tell me the difference in the 2 Beauforts it would be appreciated.
Any lads on here so any trialing with Springers?
Just wondering where best place to have a look for event dates etc in S.Yorks or surrounding areas etc.
Cheers all
