  1. Whatever works best for the individual is the way to go, regardless of how others set their traps. Cant see what the ball of soil achieves though.
  2. Why the ball of muck under the trigger? I run 40 talpex and cant see the reason to set this way. simply open a tight run, set fine and back fill with fine loose soil.
  3. Am I missing something here as I don't seem to be in the click so to speak? top bloke that gave me cracking advice regards a change in career, and he's getting pecked at more than a corpse during a Tibetan sky burial.

  5. Trapline is shite for me and has cruel pinching method (belly skin) Might be down to operator error but not for me anymore.

  9. I may be wrong here but them deeper runs don't suffer from compaction anywhere near as much as the shallower runs.They have no need to throw up spoils as the infrastructure down below is sound. A good prolonged wet spell will change things dramatically.

  13. They still there just running deeper as said the ground is very dry and the worms are deep also.so they just feeding where their food supply is I suppose.
  14. Yip the majority are running scared just under the turf at present. Must be due to the heavy activity of the foragers and trailers leading off.put 12 traps out today but think I'll give them a rest after lifting on Sunday.

  18. Silage off now and a nice clean view of the runs from grazing pasture onto grass land. Should be a breeze rounding this lot up.
  19. Looks like the silage lift is exposing activity again lol. Not to worry i'm private hedge cutting and landscaping until October. They might start to appreciate your efforts after a while.

  21. I wouldn't do it if it was my sole income and I was dependant upon it. more eggs in the basket is the way for me bit of landscape gardening and hard groundwork interwoven works. Never will get rich and have no intention to,wife works nightshifts also to help spread the bills. nice steady lifestyle means more to me than living the rat race of everything had to be done yesterday.
  22. What's the charge for a wasp call out? local council is £ that about right.
  23. Just trying to think back since I joined this forum if I'd ever tried to ridicule or belittle anyone? The answer is NO I have not and never would, I use the internet for research and gaining knowledge regards whatever subject I'm interested in.Some folk however like to use it to big themselves up from the security and comfort of their little cyber houses. carry on carrying on, don't matter a toss to me
