  1. The thing is that I can identify all those characters in PCSOs I had to work with.
  2. Public services don't spend money on that sort of thing at the loeer levels. Remember that PCSOs were originally council employees who were transferred without any subsequent checks to the police service when the councils realised they were not getting their money's worth. If you haven't already seen it check out CSO Manchester on youtube. That is as realistic as you can get and it is pure comedy.
  3. As a matter of interdst are your candidates going for jobs that are barely above minimum wage and effectively shop dummies in the same way that schools and hospitals recruit less well paid and less well qualified people in order to cut costs? Police recruitment is a joke. They insist that all new recruits have completed a policing qualification before applying, then go through the recruitment procedure, equipping and training course and it is only when they get on the streets that many of them realise that they have to work weekends and nights and handle dead bodies. Hence the high rate
  4. How would you know? They aren't likely to admit to it during interview.
  5. The thing is that the type of bobby around in my time is extinct now. It is all about social work and diversity. Crime isn't important nowdays. And there are far more young in service, i.e. inexperienced bobbies because of the faster turnover of staff. I think one force now has 88% of beat officers under three years service. In the 1990's that would have been under 15%.
  6. The Wentworth Estate is a beautiful part of the country. Same with Sandbeck and Laughton. I was lucky in that I had those parts and not Rotherham centre which is grim. But I did have Dinnington so not all good ?
  7. Deepl is far better than Google Translate
  8. Was that the Sunshine Coaches?
  9. Yep. And it all started when New Liebour turned police forces into services and made them another arm of the social services and revenue collection.
  10. Whoever is the easiest target. Reports of groomers hanging around kids and nothing is done. By whom? What law have they broken by being in the proximity of kids? All this talk of the police should ave done this or that without any understanding of the law.
  11. They weren't watching it, sitting or otherwise. You obviously either can't understand what I have said or don't want to. Either way, your opinion has arrived before you understand the situation. Try reading about the Bliar, Brown and Blunkett years and you might learn a thing or two. Do you honestly believe that? Firstly it is highly un,ikely that anyone could regularly come and go via a drain pipe without being noticed. Secondly, there would be signs and smells on her clothing, etc.
  12. I'm not going to repeat myself so try looking through the previous posts. You'll find the answers there. Just one point though: care homes are deemed to be the child's parents. So whether it is the biological or legal parents aren't they somehow responsible for your young girl in a taxi at 2am scenario?
  13. FFS don't learn Italian while you drive. Italians need both hands to communicate.
  14. Exactamont. The system is in place and enforced throughout all public services for the same reason.
  15. If you learn one language they say it is easier to learn another. Not for me. We learned Greek a few years ago before learning French. Because the Pimsleur language course is structured the same for both languages I kept answering in Greek, not French. The Pimsleur course is good though. I can now order two beers in four languages, but in times of confusion I sometimes ask for the same two beers in four languages.
  16. If you had any sense you wouldn't generalise. I am neither of those. You can't fight the system. If you read my earlier posts you will see that I tried, but the system cannot be beaten. As for dogmandont's post; if you don't think that parents are ultimately responsible for their children then who is?
  17. It isn't just that either. Immediately post WW2 Russia benefitted from slave labour including many top scientists and engineers who were captured in Germany. They involuntarily kick started the Russian nuclear program, but they haven't been replaced by scientists and engineers of similar capabilities. That is why they have not been able to keep up with the West or former USSR countries who have a more enlightened attitude to intellectuals and shared knowledge.
  18. How do you know that unless the taxi is stopped for a check? How many taxis are randomly stopped for a police check even without the discrimination factor? I think some of you amateur dectives need to stop watching TV police shows.
  19. It has demonstrated that the notion of Russia being the super power that was used to support excessive American military spending was a lie. Something that some of us suspected all along. When the best thing they could sell us were Lada cars and Zenit cameras how come they were supposed to be technologically superior to the West in weapons? Putin has bust his own show. They might have beaten the Germans in WW2. But back then the whole country was mobilised. This time round even the Russian Army aren't up for it. And those that are are ill trained and ill equipped. Their tanks are useless
  20. What you are missing is that there was no direct evidence at the time that could be used to bring a prosecurion. Suspicions raised by charity workers were referred to a panel of police, social and youth workers and no evidence was forthcoming. Many of the victims denied what was happening, others had histories of false claims or were unreliable witnesses and the law of the land did not allow arrests to be made without evidence. It is easy to lay the blame in hindsight. It was the whole CJS that failed and is still failing. Someone who cries rape over and over again isn't going to be believed
  21. One of the issues never raised about the Asian sex scandals is the part the parents played. It is all well and good them now shouting for justice aka compensation, and demanding sackings, but where were they when their kids were being groomed? It is all about blaming others for their own failings and trying to get some cash ouf of it.
  22. Not the case. I have come across many cases where kids from richer fa ilies went off the rails and they were failed by the system too. One young woman was a talented musician and had been playing in youth orchestras until she became alcoholic. Then she was dumped into a private alcohol rehabilitation centre that simply took public money for nothing. They didn't stop her going out even though she returned blind drunk or ended up in A&E. They didn't restrict her spending money. They just collected their payments and let the police and hospital staff do the work. Same in private childr
  23. I did. They weren't interested. There aren't many investigative journalists around. They just print press releases or facebook gossip. This isn't just a South Yorkshire Police failure. It happened all over the country wherever Asians were concentrated. And the failures were spread across many public services including schools, local authorities and health authorities. I have customers from all those fields and their experiences are the same as mine. It is down to government policies over many years.
  24. I rocked the boat so many times the CC put a price on my head for anyone who could get me sacked. He didn't like the questions I asked on the Ask The Chief page of the force Intranet. Questions like: I see that you have now changed your stance on fighting the government's amalgamation of forces plan that you urged us to fight. Other than the government dropping their plans to seriously reduce the numbers of senior officers the rest of the plan seems to be the same. Reductions in specialist services, reductions in admin staff, officers being forced to move to other areas, etc, etc. So please c
  25. This all occurred during the height of the Politically Correct era. The senior officers were scared of having their promotion chances ruined by any claims of racial harrassment so they instructed the troops to look the other way when Asians were involved. They had a habit of blocking Rotherham town centre with their taxis if one of them got a fixed penalty notice so we were told not to issue them to Asians. If I did they would get cancelled due to some dubious 'error' that was never explained. It was a horrible place to work at that time as there were always out to get you for some discriminat
