Been looking at building materials and planning a mews today, obviously a goshawks the goal but I think a Harris hawk or retail again until I have some experience under my belt.

Really enjoying your posts moorman, I had a couple of yearwith a falconer who flew redtails and goshawks, much preferred the goshawk. Was going to get my own bop but time and space needed were not avaliable. Got the time and the space now and reading this thread had inspired me to look back into it. Just hope I can remember what he taught me lol.

New land and new permisson
poachers apprentice replied to poachers apprentice's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I'm in Lincolnshire mate, I understand somewhat that I'll be restricted on what I can own. A friend who shoots rimfire and centre fire has agreed to let me shadow him on some trips out to see whats what. I've shot rimfire before under supervision so I'm not totally new to shooting. -
New land and new permisson
poachers apprentice replied to poachers apprentice's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I'm going to have a chat with him next week, just wanted some idea of what I should be looking at with regards to calibres. -
So ive managed to secure my self a decent permission and a really nice ground to shoot on . Best of it is that the gamekeeper is happy for me to apply for my fac and take on pest control duties . Now i havent got a clue what to apply for and what rifle/rifles ill need ? i really want to start fox shooting but im totally overwhelmed by all the different calibres/makes and equipment . Ive only ever used 12 bore and terriers for foxing so im feeling a bit bewildered . Can any one give me some advice on where i should be starting rifle wise ? Any reccomendations for you tube channels or

Ross Edgley, the 'fittest' man alive?
poachers apprentice replied to Born Hunter's topic in General Talk
I actually know Ross fairly well (same town , trained in same gyms ) he’s pretty much the nicest bloke you’ll ever meet , I will say though if you think that physique and his training is all natural your mistaken ? blokes a massive roid monster . -
So I’ve used a catapult on and off since I was a nipper , always held it in my right hand and drawn with my left . Ive always been a fair to middling shot and accepted that but recently I’ve been looking into catapults more . I’m without a running dog and ferrets these last 2 years due to family/work and moving house so decided I’d knuckle down and just use a catapult and see how good I could get . I read the other night about eye dominance and hand dominance so decided to find my dominant eye (right) and I swapped hands as well .. my god !! My accuracy has improved in a day !! I’m not going t

Billy Rileys Catch Wrestling Gym In Wigan
poachers apprentice replied to AXUM's topic in General Talk
Ken shamrock was the only catch style fighter in the early ufcs , he lost to Gracie in the first ufc so your mistaken in that respect Kazushi sakuraba beat several Gracie's in the pride days , he maybe the catch wrestler your referring to I find it a little hard to believe your only a blue belt yet tap out higher grades regularly unless your a sandbagger or have swapped teams What's your Bjj lineage ? -
Farmers Shooting Dogs.
poachers apprentice replied to Poacherspocket's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
When i got my first lurcher years ago i used to walk it as a pup on some set aside , had the farmer pull up " not allowed on here " replied sorry went to move off and he told me what fields i could walk over . next day im walking over the same fields he said i could cross , pulls up again "not allowed on here , how you like it if i walked across your garden ??" that was the start of a year of me and him having a running argument and him following me im his landy most days , i had him let my tyres down and ring police saying ui was hare coursing ( i was ferreting on permission at time and h -
Warning About Gamekeeper John,fat Scammer
poachers apprentice replied to Greyman's topic in Catapult & Slingshot Hunting
funny that my daughter has had random people emailing her telling her what a great guy he is and to be patient as he's snowed under etc, I,m as near to a p***y as you can get, I drive an old truck, pick up scrap, have ducked and dived all my life, even done a bit of bare knuckle in my younger days, but if I told you I would have something ready for you as a Christmas present for your father, I would make sure I did or at least have the decency to say I could,nt make it, not take your money then ignore your emails and delete you every time you try and contact him through face book, it's wrong an -

Fixing Flats To Gypsy Tabs
poachers apprentice replied to poachers apprentice's topic in Catapult & Slingshot Hunting
I'm probably being really stupid but what's holding the bands where you've put the slit in the fork ? ? -
Is fixing flats to gypsy tabs a good method or would I be better whipping straight onto the fork ?
