  1. Big difference though DB, while were pointing irony out.............Wilf is in his own country pointing out what he'd like, not in Iran telling you what you should do. Don't bother with the "Wilfs in Ireland" point, when the time comes it will unite the natives of these islands, ill be proud to stand with any of my Scottish, Irish or Welsh brothers.
  2. I think your'e allowed to miss one exit off a roundabout without indicating, ie if your'e missing the first exit and taking the next, after that you should indicate, Not sure how true that is?
  3. Muslim women drivers are about the worst round here, seen loads of accidents involving them, close second would be old blokes with a flat cap on the 3 closest shaves iv'e ever had were with 2 motorbikes, and a lorry..............both bikes came to fast as i was trying to turn out of a junction, round bends/hedges, and the lorry cut from the inside of a roundabout right across me, chased the c**t to the M1 probably just as well
  4. iv heard of terriers being lost in deep rock piles working fox but he can't get in anywhere amongst this stuff otherwise I'd steer clear You should be ok nearly anywhere with him mate, we never had problems with the various x bred scrounging dogs. A few of us had terriers, you just had to learn where to avoid, or get them on a lead near the bad spots, i could tell some tales about losing dogs in bad places.
  5. This is probably a faked story mate, its not perfect, there's a few spelling mistakes, wrong use of words, and a bit of bad punctuation, but look at the rest of it, spells better than most on here, and its structure would be way beyond a mind that didn't know what to do about this situation..........the mistakes look deliberate, some nut job, or daft teen on the wind up/seeking attention i reckon?
  6. Grew up working that type of ground, loads of it round here, does the dogs a lot of good imo, but its dodgy at times, specially with terriers.
  7. The best catch dog in cover iv'e ever seen was a mates Cairn type terrier, hardly any leg on it, but it could steam through rabbits runs like a greased weasel, had a thick coat and nothing bothered it. Not a dog i would want though, i prefer bolting and watching the lurchers run, my bitch catches an odd one, which i don't mind, but its job is to find/bolt really.
  8. I discourage jumping full stop, not a massive call for it round here tbh anyway, losing a rabbit because the don't jump isn't the end of the world to me, a dog with its guts hanging out would be.
  9. Call me a sceptic, but i think this is more about the SNP putting political pressure on Westminster than getting justice for the victims? if by some miracle they get him in court and he spills the beans its likely to go across all parties and do untold damage, fair bit of leverage for the SNP, just see if it gets dropped and what concessions Scotland get on the QT Disgrace all round, and not the first, Rotherham was timed for the election, non of them are above using these things for nothing but political gain.
  10. I'm glad the dog came past when my mate was there, they'd been taking the mickey out of me about it since i told them, but he saw for himself that night, like i said i don't believe in this ghost stuff, but i saw what i saw mate? For one start why would a "ghost dog" breath, and we could see its breath in the cold air, but what animal would ignore you at 7 to 10 yards when you put a lamp on it, and our dogs never pulled at it or anything, weird.
  11. Iv'e got me C & G cert mate, lost me college stuff now, did it through CITB, so they must have records, just after the £600 fee robbing b*****ds.
  12. Mission accomplished now Neems, the torys are in government, time to play the immigration question down Its like being in the kitchen of the "Cave" listening to the starving defending capitalism, total delusion Stop bashing yer brains out mate, i have
  13. I can't even work on site now, apparently my City & Guilds and 30+ years in the game don't count for anything, they wont give me the CSCS Bricklayers card, loads of my mates are in the same boat. A mate of a mate had a site agent ringing him up not long ago, asked him if he was interested in any work, the site agent said he could only get young lads and they were shite, taking more work down than they were putting up I looked into it and i can appeal, or pay £600 and be "assessed" to see if im capable/safe f**k em. Makes me wonder how the foreigners get on site
  14. One of the main reasons for x'ing the spaniel was so i could read the dog better, i hunted with my mates pure spaniels, and my boys a fair bit, but i could never get a proper handle on them tbh, that might get better if i had my own pure, but im more than happy with the way this bitch turned out, easy to see her mark, or see when she steps it up a gear, the pure's make me jumpy
  15. I think iv'e worded the last post badly tbh Willow, sold the bitch a bit short really. When i say "she only works a scent" i meant in tighter cover, like brambles, she covers loads of ground looking for gear, never stops, but she wont work the heavy stuff unless there's a scent, i can make her work cover if i think she's missing one, but its not very often the bitch is wrong, and i'm right if you get me. Like i said earlier, if you work big patches of cover that needs a good knocking out, she probably wouldn't suit you, but if that's what she was used to doing i wouldn't be surprised if she a
  16. Hard question really mate, i suppose it depends on what you want from the dog, i can "read" her like a book, and i can't read spaniels, she only works a scent, unlike spaniels that work for a scent, that's a big bonus for me, this is just my opinion because iv'e never owned a pure spaniel, but i can control her better than a pure. I only mooch about with the bitch/lurcher and catty, so if she just goes smashing in all the time i wouldn't get a shot, then you want her to bush hard sometimes, iv'e got a fair balance of the two with her, better than i could with a pure i reckon? Don't get me wr
  17. No idea about Pointers mate, so i can't comment on them. A mate had a Lab x whippet or more likely x grew, years ago, more of a busher than a lurcher, but a hell of a dog, strong whippet body and a square type Lab head, he did everything, smartest dog iv'e ever seen. I had him in mind when we thought about breeding the Spaniel x Whippets, i wanted that type of busher, and they are similar in a lot of ways, he was a bit steadier than my bitch.
  18. Can your whippet x spaniels catch in the open? I would love to see some of them working. Did you use a cocker or springer? I think a spaniel brings more to the table than it takes away in my opinion. She's about as fast as an average rabbit mate, maybe a bit faster because she does seem to gain ground on a rabbit in the open if its a long enough run, but we never bred them to be catch dogs. Sire was only 19" 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy, and dam is from a strain of small springers just bred for hard bushing by a mate, another dose of running blood and the pups would catch no problem imo. My
  19. Some of the lads had doubts when we decided to breed whippet x spaniels, fair points like putting a good nose on the leg and not being able to get it back lol, but its not worked out like that. Totally sold on the spaniel x's now, wouldn't have anything else. I doubt ill have many more working dogs, but they'll be spaniel x's bred out of my bitch, runners or bushers
  20. as said ,lovely borders them mate ,what x is the black dog Shes a springer spaniel x rotweiler nobody ever belives me but i got her of a gamekeeper i know. Just goes to show you can x a spaniel with almost anything and get a useful worker, nice strong bitch that mate
  21. I don't tell this one very often, can't explain it, but im not a believer in ghosts really. I was lamping a local golf course, without permission, about 30 years ago, i came to a spot with 2 fairways separated by some rough grass/small trees, i flicked the lamp on and in the rough bit in the middle was a bloke wearing what looked like a shiny grey suit, he had a collie type dog, funny thing was they never seemed to look back at me when the lamp went on? Being young daft i walked towards them, probably thinking it was one of the lads i knew, i only walked about 15 yards and decided to have
  22. I find this a bit of an insult tbh, an insult to genuine disabled people and their families, after seeing how it wrecks lives for everybody concerned first hand i don't have any sympathy for these morons, should be chucked in a psych ward or put down, end of.
  23. Time Team, real ale, some half tidy posh tarts that would love a bit of rough (IMO) and history, winner for me.
  24. Had it done about 15 years ago, stayed awake and i didn't think it was that bad, as said the tugging's about the worst part. I had a week booked off work, and took it easy for 3 days, i felt sound so went fishing, i climbed a style a bit to quick and felt a sharp tug, i never got any infection, but me bollocks never felt right again, site bricky at the time, so maybe all the bending and lifting didn't help? Being honest i wouldn't have it twice, wish i'd never had it done.
  25. If anyone's interested in how the brain works its worth checking out the work of Rupert Sheldrake, some really mind blowing results, like proving our brain works on a delay, up to 5 seconds or so, hard to figure that out?
