HM1000 in .177 About to order one, not that the Mrs knows. There's a member that uses one... Can't find his damn posts. This post is basically bait for him to come forward. His is that a black pepper stock. Anyone any thoughts on them?

Hawke for me. Its just gives enough when second guessing and to be fair has been spot since I got it. [Having had a mare with the post I made about 2 weeks ago about it]

At the end of the day, this a 'waste of time' post. Not offence to the OP. None at all, but a fox is out of the realm of 'air guns'. End of. Its all down to energy, irrelevant of calibre. There isn't enough per mass.

Hows the current owner filling it? Its a good price I think. Looks proper too.

Wolverine 303. I wouldn't but theres an 'air rifle' out there... Theres a dude on the choob that drops hogs with it. We've probs all seen. The gay one off team wild

Again, are you being serious? Mate. You know enough to answer this. I know you do. You just must being trying to create chit chat... -
That is very well put macand that is all the information I could want out of a reply. You also make a very good point about clean kills. All I was looking for was the potential to be there in the rifle. And no I can't do long range kills at the moment but I am building up my distance and it will only come with practice. We all have to start somewhere. Its not all about long kills get to no your pray and field craft getting close to your pray is one of the hardest things to learn and even harder to get good at storking is a skill that only comes good with practice lots of it

Was what a serious question, does the 177 shoot further than the 22 hw 100.What I am picking up from the 4.5 shooters is that they will shoot the 22 out of the park which is just making me think of a tunes 97k and settle for that and btw I have never seen any posts on here about 97's having any drops in power or other problems. I am not sure about the 100 so I think I will pass for now. May be i need to see them in action. Someone said that if you want to shoot 65 yards to get a rimfire well if a 100 will not do that then i may as well keep my springers. The actual question was can it take

Was this a serious question VW?

Superb. Seen this on gay book this afternoon

Rez , most of us run our guns at 11.5-11.7 ft /lb with the heaviest pellet or the most efficient pellet for our guns to make sure they don't go over , so its another 1.5 ft /lb that's roughly another 50 fps ,surely that's got to be a good thing for our quarry Perhaps, I would happily say its a good thing yes. I personally dont. My PCP's are running at 11.1 @ HW100 and 11.3 Rapid, but thats as they come [Apart form the rapid]. My springers aren't running no more that 10.8 either of them. Thats the 97 I mean. PS is 9.7. I guess Ive never wounded a rabbit, I have, but what I mean is: Iv

Thats really good actually. Love the kinda contemporary Rapid block. I want a new rifle, I dont know what though yet. I cant bare the thought of selling my current ones, but will need too.

Here we go. An extra foot pound of energy will no be noticed to us. Its a right debate that I think we've allllll had before. 10 is enough. IMO. A 21.5 ft/lbs is a bit out of the course of the chit chat to be honest.

1440 euros and only in 22 and 25 for now by the looks of it... Pups are expensive for what they are. Might have to have a hold of one.
-
How much is it?
-
That's fine man, but I've clearly shown 9.7 is enough. 10 ft/lbs is enough for shooting game. What is it that extra 1 ft/lb does then v'man? Assuming you like yours around 11 of course. It doesn't give you any further distance within normal ranges. It'll kill with ease. Reading my post back, it's sounds like an debate starter, it's not really as you right say imo at the end.

Rapids, specifically the mk1, set the standard of hunting with a PCP. They have done for years and perhaps will do. It's just, owners have to be of an 'era' to think about getting one.
-
I've literally just emptied my nuts. That is perhaps the best looking market pup I've seen.
-
Why do you need to turn the power up? Fair enough it might seem a 'problem' but it's a sweet power output. You won't notice that extra ft/lb shooting at most distances.

Managed a hour or two this evening out. Mint night. Real nice. So still and warm it was like being inside. Decided to have a wait by a warren Ive just found along the side of a recently cut barley field. Only managed two rabbits, mighty healthy ones I may add [Not had an ounce of mixy anywhere on any of my permissions this year]. It was a super time to just sit, wait and listen to the wild life and things going on around me. Little field mouse came so close I could hear it chewing berries. Majestic little thing it was. I heard hawks, owls, and a bloody deer bitchin' about something. Go

Cheers Mac. Quite touched by that. Dont know about the pianoman bit... We do need to sort something out soon. As an edit you dont mean that, yes, show me...

Nice. The 'pies tails are like tropical birds. Nasty buggers the old Magpies. And you have a pear. Is that bad luck or good luck?

I think my range finder could be on the blink. But in all honesty, its finds range accurately out in the field as the mil dots seem true when taking the quarry. If the rabbit is at 53 yards, as told by the unit, I give it 53 yards on my calibration and sure enough the pellet hits home. But below seems to puzzle me a bit. How far do you think that that far building is...? The one with the side on view... [i understand that finding range is hard enough with your own eyes, let alone a picture, but its defiantly not 45 f'kin yards!] I do think to myself that along the floor level it might b

Got up the Manor House tonight but in another field Ive yet to mooch around. Got followed round like a tit by two horses but the night went well. Real nice evening for the Pro Sport in 177. To be honest, its one of the most accurate shooting outings Ive had. All of them crumpled on impact and the rifle performed impeccably, only outputting 9.7ftlbs too[as most of you may know]. Three taken kneeling supported and one prone at good distances too. Mr pigeon was a stander. Cant wait for the autumn months when the leaves start falling off the trees and I can get in some roost shooting on white nigh
