  1. What makes you whittle it down to those two models? Whats the rifles purpose? Field, HFT and so on?
  2. The choice is yours my man. Have a think about your shooting style too, the imps cheek piece is non existent, where the LGV is as high as you want, but has no depth. As I say, go for the Imp and make it your own as in little custom bits and so on. But it does come down to calibre. If you want 177 your choice is made.
  3. Nostalgia Yep, pretty epic that.
  4. Your dead on mate. It does indeed. Not seen one for some time though.
  5. Id get the imp myself. Off hand there just so perfect for the field. I guess its a calibre question, imps only appear in .22...
  6. You do know you stuff v'man... not just what FAP lead tastes like I do not need to add to your reply, nor does any one else.
  7. It's weird they seem to come up like busses you can wait for ages and find nothing then the next day there everywhere for sale ..I've got mk2 I prefer the s type stock but I would quite happily own either....there's something about rapids that I personally don't get from any other Pcp nothing compares to the sound and feel of cocking a rapid. It's just a personal thing lol. Perfectly said. Clink... Thunk... Ting... Thunk... Clink............ Fffffuuuffffttttt.
  8. I'd second your whole post. One of my last outings, I took my 100 on a roost shoot, posted some picks as it happens on THL. Anyway, my 100 is bob on, like literally. Managed to bag a few birds, but one will stay in the mind for some time. Must of only been about 25 yards, half way up a ash tree, cross hairs rock steady on a solid branch, took the shot and literally watched the pellet strike the back of its head, it was side on, and I saw the white skull fragments against the dark tree bark, like an egg shell shattering. Dropped fluttering around as per with head shots. Left it where it was,
  9. This brings up a good point, what is the technical word for dead/alive... Id say the chicken was alive, but clinically dead... going on what they say on Silent Witness

  11. Ha. Yeah you could say that Random. Just one of those rifles you know... Ive had it so long now it would be like loosing a brother or sister if I was to get rid, I know mac would be reading this too, but yeah, when we're good, there is no rifle like a sorted, broken in 97, whatever the cost... even in .22 None. Nothing. Nice one.
  12. Do your research in depth before buying man. Rapids are like marmit, you love them or hate them. As mentioned get yourself on the rapid owners forum, the advice and knowledge is far more focused. Expect to pay upwards of £600 for a mint un molested mk1, even more in .20. The key word being unmolested. The old mk1's could be fettled to put insane FPE and it's hard to find one that hasn't been north of 24 ft/lbs at some point. The general rule of buying Rapids, I've found, is you get one, assume it's mint, and find out down the line that it's been fettled, and some sort of problem occu
  13. You are correct mark. I have Hawke Airmax 2-7x32 on all my rifles now. Still have my sidewinder but perhaps gonna flog it soon. These little Hawke scopes are so f***ing superb, they're light, clear optically, as good as any scope 3 x as much and can be mounted real low. Ret is AMX which I wasn't used too but I'm getting on with it ok now.
  14. If no one else finds this post interesting, I sure do. Reminds me of my childhood the old weblehhhhh I'd love to have a day with one on my targets. Can't imagine the shooting experience.
  15. Chew my arm off for a whitetail classic. No scopes like um nowadays... I mean for god sake what a finish with that granite look. Too expensive in today's world to do... Rez its an absolute topper, pristine condition, not a mark on it nor any wear to the finish, the whitetail classic was my first decent scope on my very first hw100 , I could not fail with that outfit back then, let's hope the r10 and the classic do me proud, no mil dots back to genuine old school, proper shooting lol Completely agree. I'd like to get back to the roots of shooting 30/30 duplex but I must admit that mil dots

  17. You are right Mac. To be honest it's the only rifle I do put away for the trek back to the car, there is no way I'm leaping over two barbed wire fences with no where to put it, I would be mightily pissed off if I dropped it scaling a f***ing fence so just hang my slip on the fence with the rifle inside. Recognise the nato jacket? served me well. Had it on for the last part of the foray, over my thermal. Gets sodding cold... Just sat.
  18. I suppose it would yes. But the wildlife doesn't make it boring. I'm not experienced enough to find fieldsports predictable just yet god if I knew that rabbit would be round the corner, or the pigeon at the top of a tree, it wouldn't be worth doing. The old ticker still goes, even when I think it's an easy shot.
  19. damn it just acquired .20 lol But your not that bothered are you billy... Not at all. A technical hunters calibre
