  7. Awesome Chev... Its only an hour from me and been on my list for a couple years now... Do you know if it’s easy access ??? Been told its about 1.5 mile walk from nearest parking area.
  8. Thanks bud, always nice to capture different species that are not too far from me... Quite a site to behold, must’ve been at least 100 adults plus last years pups.
  9. Had a drive down to a Grey Seal colony this morning, plenty heavily pregnant females, lots of last years pups and a good few males battling... Only seen one of this years pups but probs a couple weeks to early yet...
  10. Thanks very much Dytkos, much appreciated.
  11. Well I did have an hour or so wait for her to turn up but some subjects can be more predictable than others ? To be fair there are often times when I’m driving hours to a location, walking mile after mile over moors in all weathers, waiting hours and hours in cold wet fields and all to photograph a subject and sometimes drawing a blank. Most the crawling I do is to my wife when I’ve spent most my weekend or time off out with the camera ?
  12. Thank you very much Arry, appreciate the compliment massively but until my body gives in or the sites go tits up it’s not really an option as the money is too good but whichever of the above come 1st then it’s something I’ll have to seriously look into and think about.
  13. Ha ha... thank you Penny, 100% wild and free although I may have taken a couple of black bag fulls of fallen leaves to help with the images. Here’s a link to a quick clip of the red squirrel taking hazelnuts out the palm of my hand ? https://www.dropbox.com/s/2m80k1qxve38mf5/IMG_1021.MOV?dl=0
  14. Out early doors this morning for some autumnal red squirrel photography and they didn't disappoint
  15. Thanks for the offer pal, you’re only couple hours drive so no need to stay over although the offer is appreciated... Are the mountain Hare down your way quite approachable or flighty ??? It would be good to photograph some closer to home ?

  17. It’s a cracking reintroduction, I would imagine they’ll prey primarily on grey squirrels and will raid the odd bird nest during the season, they don’t seem to predate red squirrels so it’s a win win situation conservation wise, Martens should do well and in turn the red squirrel population should thrive.
  18. Well yesterday morning was a 4am start and a 500+ mile round trip in the hope of photographing mountain hares, spent 6 hours on the hills searching and scouting, 3 hares seen in that time and a total of 20 minutes spent with a young mountain hare... I had a b&b booked as was planning to spend a full day with the hares and stay until sunset for the hope of some backlit images but I cancelled the b&b and decided on the drive home instead due to the lack of opportunities as hares were very scarce on the ground, landed home about 9pm. Was it worth it ??? I’ll let you cast your own opi
  19. Thanks LeeGreen, I’m gonna bite the bullet and invest in a pair... The leder-Gris is what I treated my altbergs with, good stuff and goes a long way ?
  20. Thanks Moorman, if I get 6 years out of them I guess it’s not a bad price in the long run.. If you’ve bought a 2nd pair then you obviously rate em... Cheapest I can find them in stock is £235 on bushcraft store, anywhere else I should be looking ???
  21. Cheers Joe, I wear Bridgedale socks during winter but my feet feel the cold more than anything else.
  22. lowa hunter gtx evo extreme Are the worth the money ??? And if so, what do people recommend to treat them with ??? Had Altberg Warriors for past 6 years but they’ve finally started letting in even after being waxed... Like the look of the Lowa and it appears that they’ll offer plenty support which would be good as I have problems with a weak ankle, also insulated would be ideal for snow covered Cairngorms hills in the winter... Any opinions on the above boots welcome please.
