  1. Right, I’ll start some threads off tomorrow when I get chance, there’ll be plenty photos inc names of birds/animals - it’ll be a bit like the”Andy show” so I really do hope more people will follow on once I sort the threads out ?
  2. Great stuff, keep the photos coming ?
  3. Is this still for sale mate ???
  4. Is this still for sale mate ???
  5. That’s a great idea Katchum, teaching your kids to know different birds and wildlife in the U.K. and giving them some encouragement and reference of what to look for or what they’ve seen is cracking... Would you do separate threads like say “tits and finches”, “Woodpeckers”, “seabirds”, “owls”, “kingfishers”, “birds of prey - Kestrels, sparrowhawks, Merlin, peregrine” and then let’s say “badgers and foxes”, “Hares and rabbits”, “stoats and weasels” ??? I could start some threads off of other people are willing to follow and add their own... ???
  6. New boy in town, male Cuckoo... Different bird and different location to the 2 i photographed last year...
  7. Thanks, certainly not the best images I’ve ever taken but much appreciated... I was probably about 15m away if I remember rightly and definitely with a long lens ?
  8. Funny you should mention Zeiss... My good friend has been a birder for 50+ years and been through a good few pairs of bins in his time, 2 years ago he sold his Swarovski bins and bought a pair of Zeiss Terra ED 8x42 and said they were better glass and build and quality than the Swarovski’s he’d chopped them in for and also a third of the price ? He swears by them but I do also agree with above comments about trying different pairs as you can physically see the difference when when looking through them, my initial intention was to put about £100 limit on them until I tried a few pair and e
  9. You seen these ??? Well within your budget ? https://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/390411-opticron-countryman-10x42-binoculars/
  10. Opticron Natura BGA ED 10x42 are a cracking pair of bins for the money ?
  11. Cracking set buddy, particularly like the goldfinch on the blossom and the male bully shot above it... Keep the photos coming ?
  12. You’re probably best going for a bridge camera - it’s like a hybrid of compact/dslr... something like a Nikon P900 would suit your budget and needs I would say... Then if you find your getting the use out of it and starting to understand basic settings, you could upgrade to a full DSLR ?
  13. Gotta be the hardest face plant I’ve ever seen...
  14. Knowing what your budget is and what you’d like to photograph would help in advising you ?
  15. Thanks again Jay, always nice for people to appreciate my photos and understand sometimes how many hours and amount of work that can go into photographing a subject... The cuckoo needed a pop up hide, 2 males ended up coming to my perch situated about 10 meters away... I use a Canon 1DX mkii and either a Canon 500 f4 mkii or Canon 100-400 L mkii, I have a 7D mkii as a spare body and fro the reach as it’s a 1.6 crop sensor but since getting the full frame beast the 7D has never come out the bag.. Heres a link to my Flickr page https://www.flickr.com/photos/94724826@N08/ - it’ll show y
  16. Arry, you’re a gent buddy and if I decide to do a calendar this year I’ll post you one out free of charge pal ?
  17. Thanks buddy, much appreciated.. I’m quite lucky regarding reds, they’re thriving in my area and can be seen within a half hour walk from home.
  18. Thank you very much Jay, glad you like them... Yes, a canny bit time and work spent in getting some of these images - the Cuckoo being the hardest and took 3yrs of trying before finally getting him regular on the perch...
  19. Here are some photo's taken over the past 12 months, one photo from each month of the year in order from Jan - Dec... (More than likely i have posted some of these previously)
