  1. I live not to farm there. I believe a bloke from caersws here has the same strain, and to be fair they are very handy little things! atb
  2. a couple of you may have seen I was on the look out for a beagle pup. well like busses and all that I have two dog pups, I tracked down out of two parents I have seen work a fair few times and would suit my bill grand. I am only looking to keep the one pup on but the bloke who bred them wanted rid so i gave him what he was asking which was £300 for the two a price i was happy to pay! i am going to offer one of the pups for sale if any one would like him. they are tri coloured and when i collect them in a week i can get some photos but these will be ideal for hunting up some rangy
  3. maybe I have just been lucky mate! just breed worker to worker and unfortunately I am quite ruthless. a couple of our strain have been slow starters which I am more than happy to accommodate but this is not to be mistaken for acts of cowardice, as this I do not tolerate. atb
  4. she is my digging partners matey, only 10 months old but coming on grand. she is a 1st cross bull x grey believe it or not and he chose the runt of the litter!
  5. ha ha that picture flatters the little Grinch!! and thank you mate! atb
  6. managed to get out yesterday with some russel pups that needed socialising and just general time in the big out doors. decided to take a few lurchers , including my young lurcher bitch "thorn". we decided to quietly mooch along a disused railway line allowing the dogs to hunt up squirrels and rabbits as they wished. it was a nice day for it and a few bits and bobs provided some sport for the older runners. as we approached some dense bramble patches a scream let out by my old Russell dog made it certain he had spotted a fox. before long all the terriers were away on the scent of the fa
  7. we are at the end of our season now, apart from call outs. it has been an eventful season to say the least more to do with home life rather than the dogs but they have also had a few moments!! having time to look back and reflect there is one little bitch that has really impressed me this season. she is a little home bred bitch we bred amongst me and my digging partner. she has been a very steady bitch and has taken everything into her stride. she has been called up on more than I would of liked this season to be honest due to a couple of my other Russels deciding to be a little more hands
  8. my good friend used to have one but it met its end prematurely as it hit an old blow at full bore!1 was a handy enough dog, poor feet in my opinion and would spend his share of time in the sick bay with silly little injuries, but it was run on a large variety of quarry and lacked nothing in minerals. just not robust enough for me but then this was my only experience of them in there pure form.
  9. thanks max, what camera are you using mate?
  10. hi there. been reading a lot about this trap and I am interested in trying some. can any one point me in the right direction for getting hold of some. thanks in advance dan

  13. had a day out Saturday with a few boys, things have been hectic my end just of late so was playing catch-up really. headed out with a few young terriers and a few young lurchers who needed to see a bit of something now to set them up for next season. the day was miserable beyond and I was wet through to me knackers! we put a few nice bits and bobs out for the young lurchers allowing the terriers to have a free mooch above ground. we were wandering over earths allowing a single terrier at a time the freedom to search the earths with no pressure. as we were walking a dingle we noticed a mat
  14. Jesus fella. your having enough bad luck for us all mate! puts things into place I suppose mate I was winging on about a few barb wire cuts on bitch but when you hear something like this it does make you sit back and think logically that far worse happens mate. chin up atb

  16. hi there lads. I am after a beagle pup pref a bitch to add to my little pack. I had one lined up to be honest but fell through. anyone who could help I would be very grateful! going to just use it as a mooching partner as i have a lot of vast land and feel a beagle would tie my terrier work and lurcher work together nicely! tia
  17. the little plummer looks a belter gaz! keep us updated atb
  18. as a couple of you on here know I have been planning to take a litter off my old dog "patch" to a bitch of similar breeding I have. but after patchy seeming to "miss" a couple of bitches I thought I had better get him checked over and the vet seems to think his sperm count is very low!! im waiting on some more tests, but im gutted to say the least as I don't breed very often, only when I need a pup back for myself. I had planned with this litter to gift a couple of pups to likely men who I knew would graft the line and do them justice. a risk in itself but then life is all about risk altho
