  1. Care to elaborate on your sarky comment ??? or do you feel your the only 1 in the country with decent dogs obviously because you have a high post count on an internet forum it makes you wiser yeah
  2. he might not have accessto any of the above and the farmer might not want it done that way but i agree it would be more effective with a fox drive
  3. Baiting the edges of cover with a shootable backdrop in the early morning first light has produced a few in the past for me but i was useing a centre fire at longer than 100 yds ranges i dont see why not with a hmr if you have suitable cover my mate uses a portable highseat to decent effect on foxes with a hmr in the daytime
  4. Ive not payed for a running dog since i was a kid and mine have all been treated the same if there decent if not there pts putting price tags on working dogs was a major factor in there ruination and and a major factor in the reason there is so much dross out there putting higher price tags on them will only force to make the peddlars to double there efforts for example why would a dog peddlar waste his time producing a litter to sell them for 50 quid its usualy the cheaper litters where money has not been the main motive beind the breeding imo
  5. i wouldnt like to have to wait till 2 years plus to see what i had it makes it alot easier if you know the line of dogs to judge but even in some of the best lines there is still litter waste if a dog is wanting to go at 16mths so be it i guarentee that out of a litter of say 6 3 to 4 pups out the litter would possibly make it and i would end up with the 2 duck egg's i would rather know they were duck eggs a year earlier
  6. Well Neil that's the biggest pile of sh*t I've ever read on here and so bigoted its unreal, you're so wide of the mark its laughable, you're either pissed or smacked off your tits either way get help, I shoot and bush to lurchers everyday, I've worked lots of quality gundogs but there is nothing out there that could beat my terriers in cover, heavy or otherwise, get help or observe some better dogs, WM Maybe your observing the wrong spaniels and its you thats stuck in your own bubble i would choose a spaniel or hound cross over a terrier anyday it would piss me off greatly crawling throug
  7. Bit hard to use my imagination when theres still pictures of it running between and under rsj's with its slight injury Hello Swede. The place were the dog sustained his injury was one side of one barn, in this half grids etc had been removed so the dogs had access underneath. The saw like thigys, were, i presume to level the flooring/grids. At one side they were not jutting out so no danger, further down they were but we did not notice them in the chaos untill Rude boy actually injured himself. He was then put away in the car untill we went into the other side of the barn. Grids etc ha
  8. yeah fair 1 but what would you say a reverse 3/4 bred has to offer that a half cross dont ?
  9. Bit hard to use my imagination when theres still pictures of it running between and under rsj's with its slight injury
  10. theres still photos of it running in there with it slight injury hows it been removed lol i have no problem just an opinion that obviously dont match a group of peoples that know each other, but because i have an opinion please dont call me a fanny ive worked dogs where they have took severe punishment and i will flatten 1 in a heartbeat if its a wanker so a fairy fanny i aint ive always been called a harsh f****r so a fannys a new 1 but i would never run a dog in a situation where it looks easily dangerous to it and after it did injure itself (even slightly) i would take it out the situation
  11. plenty places where a lurcher can injure itself we've all had it and had dogs kill them self skycat but ive never seen row's of steel rsj's20 inch from the ground across fields lol and how do you keep a dog away from them if theres stuff running under them once a dogs running you have no control where it goes would you let a dog run hares on tarmac or lamp stuff through thick trees ?? surely abit of common sense says not suitable and not risk it but to actualy let a dog injure itself even slightly then let it carry on imo is stupid its my opinion and i am entitled to it and i aint gonna change
  12. Not a fanny mate just stupid running a dog in that enviroment i would of put it away to stop further injury looks like there was enough other dogs better suited there
  13. Some great pictures, cant belive you let lurchers that size work in a place like that in the first place seems abit daft and a dog dig get injured and was still running round with a flap of skin hanging on its back the dog should of been cleaned stapled or whatever it needed and put away imo
  14. is the little hound cross trying to go to ground or pushing in large entranced places ??
  15. My cocker is mute never makes a peep lifting pheasants or partridge or duck or woodcock but yip's with bunnys and fox and deer if he is close
  16. cant see what 1 would have to offer over a half cross, that 1 in that video was a big animal looked a little to big for my liking but then again i wouldnt know a good ferreting dog if it jumped up and bit me ferreting bore's the pants of me
  17. put a better offer in on the house or buy 1 you will never have the problem again
  18. Doe's anybody know how he is actualy bred then it seems to get avoided when asked ive heard of the dog before and nobody has actualy got a clue how its bred or theres about 5 different versions lol and to be fair you cant blame the dog for producing a poor line of animals its usualy men and money that ruin them but then again the line never stood a chance when it originated from south yorkshire
  19. alot of people have budgie they feature in alot of dogs pedigrees
  20. theres alot of coursing dogs with there name in the line its usualy 5 gens back now though
  21. thats utter bollox some of the quarry we hunt (pre-ban) does not have that hard a time at all they have no natural predators in this country and theres alot of wank dogs out there lol and theres not alot of field craft to lamping jesus its not rocket science at all a decent biddable dog a lamp and abit of basic knowledge and lie of the lands all thats needed its not an ancient skill passed down that only a few have mastered lol and you say about science etc making it impossible for them to survive they never had high powered spot lamps and lit ion batterys a few decades ago if your that bother
  22. Millet night vision used right can be a useful tool for lamping with dogs it can be used to put more quarry infront of your dogs its not about making a bad hunter look good lol its not like theres bags of skill in lamping its pretty basic its about getting runs and putting stuff infront of your dog,my thought with gaffer is he sounds like an amateur having to ask questions about night vision and running ground he knows is run to death taking kit like night vision for a bunny sounds like kid stuff
  23. Sound like kids asking questions not grown men ffs you know the lands shite and lamped to death so your going up there with night vision and catching 1 bunny, my opinion is get out and find more ground stop f***ing around like teenage boys or hang up your lamp
  24. Thats it lads jump in and buy pups from an accidental mating from 2 none working animals put me down for 4 if there cheap enough
  25. bigging dogs up so to speak as devil dogs and indestructible and unpredictable is never gonna help a breed or type and will always give it the wrong attention, wheatens do need somebody with abit of knowledge about the breed when working them but there not some holygrail dog that only a few can handle and understand thats just silly talk
