    You were lucky then i thought my first dogs were mint but looking back they were shite but i was 11 or 12 back then they probably were mint never caught a great deal with them not for lack of trying mind i put hours and hours into them and probably did more harm than good and ruined them but i guess thats the learning curve and i wouldnt listen to better advice

    Shiter when it happens but it does often enough, i would just pts though save yourself the hassle of sifting through clowns to re-home and any grief if it goe's on the merry go round etc or even worse it might turn out a decent animal that will sicken you worse at least if you pts it can always be a wanker and not that great dog that you let go and you dont have to kick yourself

    Everybody has different opinions and ways of doing thing's whos to say whos right and whos wrong if folk are happy with what they have in there kennel and they work to how they want who gives a flying f**k if folks want to hold a dog back i cant see how its ruining a gene pool i dont like sitting on dogs to long maybe i have culled a few dogs in the past because i thought they were duck eggs but i will never know ive had plenty others work out well enough for me there is no way or right or wrong on this argument its just simply a difference of opinion

    Good thread enjoyed reading some of the stories i remember walking miles and miles on a weekend with a ferret in a cloth money bag having to turn them inside out and wipe them on the grass when they had a shit in them i would walk all day with terriers and a whippety type dog no nets or a shovel putting my ferret into every empty burrow on the pit railway lines and never getting jack shit i remember 1 day i actualy bolted a bunny after i had been out for 5 or 6 hours and a dog actualy caught it i shit you not i ran all the way home showing the bunny off as i ran through my village to anybody

    ive only just had a conversation about this with a pal, the only thing i can say about coursing pup prices is the history and breeding is all tracable and everyone in the game can verify the line history of the pups for sale, the dogs have a massive amount of time and effort put into them and are really tested, there is a possibility that the pups could be matched and in turn generate a few quid. where as a lurcher from joe soap, supposed to be this that or the other, only seen working by the owner who is funnily the owner of the pups for sale, they cant justify big prices........ handy m

    I wouldnt of thought so at all i cant see how a 1/4 more of a herding breed is gonna give an animal an edge pushing heavy cover over a half cross animal infact i cant see it at all

    A gun pack is usually a small pirate pack of hounds or hound crosses that hunt sections of cover for a line of guns placed around the cover being hunted they are very effective if done right
