  2. Yeh thats something you have to watch on the earlier models (not sure about the newer models)......after driving the earlier and the later models off road i prefer the older ones for the off roading i do....I have a H reg one at the min and i love it to drive pulls like chuff compared to other older 4x4's and is good on diesal.....Engine wise you cant go wrong but you must check the chasis and boot floor for rot! Good Luck! cheers lads ive been offered one in a swap for my passat tdi. its a v-reg 133,000 on the clock and its the 3.0 engine. if it looks ok im intrested but im abit w
  3. its the 3.1 im going to look at mate not the newer ones with the 3.0 engine in. ive heard they are trouble
  4. cheers lads alastair have you had any problems with the flexi pipe on the exhaust the guy whos trooper im looking at buying said he knocked it well going off road the other day in it. he said its easy fixed and to be honest you cant really hear it. but ive heard the exhausts are dear to replace on these and i dont want to have to spend on it right after buying it. hi mate yes exhausts are a bit dear,i recall buying a rear box for 70 squids, not sure about flexi pipe, maybe its the bit near the manifold, call milner offroad for a price,or if the seller is confident its easily fixed ask
  5. nice one mate nice to hear you got it.

  7. hi guys im on the look out for a izuzu trooper. ive seen a 3dr one its up nr manchester the guy said it drives spot on and all the 4x4 system works perfect hi and low gears to. im new to these sort of cars as ive never needed one before. but now need one to get round my shoots. so is there any advise people on here could give me about the trooper and what to look out for when looking over it. the guy thats selling it said there is a little blow from the flexi pipe on it ? would this be dear to repair ? thanks for any help and happy xmas to you all.
  8. I really should just have a look at my trigger because its so good I recon my dealer must have just changed it as you do. The 453 is meant to be a completely new design and/but it is also a set trigger..........I have never seen/used a 453 so I don't know if it is any better, but I do not like set triggers! Win some lose some! the trigger on the cz 453 is a set trigger i think lads but you can adjust it if you dont want it as a set trigger
  9. hi mate did you fit a tube as well as the spring ? i fitted just the spring at 1st and the pull on the trigger was perfect. but had a little creep still. so i put the red tube in to and now the creep has gone. the trigger breaks at the same point time and time again.
  10. i dont think the trigger is that bad out of the box really. i have fitted the brooks trigger kit as for £7 to 8 pound from mr brooks himself in the USA its a bargain. i fitted the heavy spring out of the set and the red tube which has stopped the creep. my rabbiting bags where very good before but i missed ''say'' 4 to 5 shots on the night and now with the kit i only miss 1 or 2 rabbits now. thats because i no when the trigger is going to break now. and it stops me from pulling my shot.
  11. thats a nice looking fox. or should i say was good shooting mate
  12. good shooting mate got some great bags there
  13. nice shooting lads. you allways get great bags. sure he doesnt breed down there rabbits
  14. cz make brilliant rifles.wouldnt ever buy a s/h rifle unless you know the history in great detail...you buy s/h and it'll take ages to work out whether its amo or the rifle and buy that time your confidance will be knocked and you wont hit a thing.....cz are brilliant and deadly accurate.my advise is to buy a new 222cz and a smitt scope and good quality mouts...all depends if you want to hunt or to have somthing pritty to show your mates.......happy shooting secondhand rifles can be had at bargain prices. as long as you dont buy one thats been used at the range alot then it will be ok
  15. hi i havent got a centrefire so i dont no as much as some people on here. but i no alot of people that have them so i no abit. a guy that has had loads of rifles on a site i go on said that the best 222 he has had is a bsa hunter. they are old but are tackdrivers. even with factory ammo but are even better with home loads. there is some factory ammo he uses that is very cheap he said and his gun loves it. half inch goups at 100 yards he said and thats with this fatory ammo so cant be bad. i will see if i can find out what is its called for you. by the way these bsa are cheap to as they are

  17. easy to do mate just look on here if your not sure http://cz452.com/ i fitted the thickest spring and red tube out the kit. that was perfect for me. but all triggers are different so you mite want it lighter then mine. once you have fitted the kit put the bolt in load it.[ with out it bullets in of course ! im sure you no that ! ha ha ] just do the bang test ie hit the butt of the rifle to see if it go's off if it does you no the spring in it is to light. so start off with the thickest 1st
  18. I bought one of the brass ones off ebay, first time out had it in my pocket with some other stuff as you do and the fecker was sqwashed it did not work, it is far to flimsy it needs its own case. So I never got to know if it worked or not. you shouldnt carry it in your pocket put in on a lanyard and hang it around your neck stu he is right ive had mine a year or so now and its fine still. i allways put it round my neck that way its easy to get to then as well
  19. i couldnt see the barrel wearing out after 2000 rounds mate. i no someone that has shot over 4000 in his and its still as good as the day he had it he said. i no its a powerfull for a rimfire but i havent heard of a barrel wearing out on one. they get nowhere near as hot as a centrefire so i couldnt see one wearing out. and if it did it wear out which again i think it wouldnt. it would only wear out on one thats used at a range alot. if your friends just using it for hunting then you have no worrys. and just remember to boresnake it every 40 to 50 rounds. and rod it every couple of 100 or so
  20. well i cant see why you havent got a 22 lr granted ? you had ther land and that passed ok i guess did it ? if so i cant see why you shouldnt be given one ive only had air rifles befor i got mine and i have to have mentoring for 3 to 4 months before i can shoot the rimfires on my own. havent you got anyone that shoots them that could be your mentor ? if not i would ask them again mate. i think its a silly rule mentoring on rimfires after all what they are saying im safe to have a gun and keep one but not aloud to fire one on my own. that bullshit i think. thats why mine is being took off. h
  21. thats it mate get as much permission as you can to send off with it. good luck
  22. as above like the guy says. you could have 300 acres but if its flat and got no back stops he mite not pass it. it just depends on what land you have to shoot over. and as i see you live in scotland im sure its not going to be flat ground all over. put in and see what your feo says mate. good luck ps as for the rifles i wouldnt bother going for the 222 as the 243 will do both jobs fox and deer. but as its you 1st time applying they mite not give you 243 right away. in which case you would need the 222 then. i would perfer 223 to 222 as there is more choice of ammo and rifles. but like i
