  1. I debated taking my terrier for the walk of no return. Her excitement when I got the cabinet keys out put me off it. I can-t do it. I can't pass a dog on and I can't shoot them.
  2. I have Only ever seen cubs come in like that. Good to capture that on video
  3. I have found these. I cut the end off that was ok and gave it to the dog
  4. What cross is he/she? Probably just the bird but almost looks a lab crossDam...Gamekeepers springer...accidental mating to his big old lurcher.Couple more of my bitch After asking that I remembered you posting on here. Looks spot on, I can imagine the retrieve is good. A spaniel is quite a quick thing for what it is and seem to be able to turn quickly at full pelt, good nose and hunting instinct
  5. What cross is he/she? Probably just the bird but almost looks a lab cross
  6. I know it isn't the point. But I do wonder what has hapened to society that we need to blur out a gutted deer? What next a curtain over the meat counter?
  7. Hi tozer is that your plummer type bitch and if so how is she doing now. Yeah that's her. Mine is a bit hit and miss. Caught a couple of rabbits but only really enters once the others are on the chase. Her litter sister on the other hand has more drive than her size. She flies through cover and is constantly finding game
  8. They certainly have more flavor but after more than 50 years of eating rabbit I have to say I still enjoy it, pie, stew or burgers etc. Wish my wife and kids felt the same . They're fine with deer, goat or pheasant but won't even consider rabbit anymore (or squirrel) . I am not saying rabbit is bad, I just quite liked squirrel more than rabbit. I can'4 really get squirrels my way. I like a good rabbit stew and potted rabbits is lovely
  9. I I take my dogs out to the woods and spend hours chasing squirrels. They come home knackered. I have no idea why your dog eats them, but I do think they taste a lot nicer than rabbit
  10. You wouldn't guess she is bull cocker. looks spot on. I took my bitch out beating yesterday, the days trying to get her to retrieve failed me and she ran in and retrieved a pheasant in her hard mouthed way
  11. If this is still for sale I will have it
  12. I saw some of the red deer they almost looked like a different species.
  13. I have no idea of cost but this is the clearest I have read. If I have it right quarantine is only 10 days once you get there. But there is a lot of faffing for that to be the case. I am seriously considering emigrating to OZ or NZ http://www.petrelocation.com/resources/international-regulations/australia
  14. This is only half memory but I think there is way to shorten it
  15. Kelpie? I can't really comment on bushing but I know a couple of famers who use them for bullocks
  16. Mine are definitely both! Having said that, it's a trait I've come to like and appreciate. With previous collie crosses I expected instant compliance (and invariably got it). When I got Rusty I was one of those people who was under the misapprehension that kelpies were like border collies but with better feet and heat tolerance...so I had a steep learning curve. I could have forced him into a steep learning curve but I'd like to think I was wise enough by then to realise that I was the one who needed to change. As a result I now find that I almost always have to ask for things twice. First
  17. Not necessarily pig headed to commands but hard and stubborn with their jobs
  18. When my grandad had the old council farm dad says he had collies that worked cattle well, stopped foxes and would pull up a bolting bullock. I only really see kelpies with the same pig headedness now
  19. I thought this was a good read. I like the dogs in the top picture http://www.thehuntinglife.com/html/sections/articles/runningdogs_hounds/pig-hunting-in-oz.html
  20. Everyone I speak to who has come back is the same. You ask why the yanks did and they just can't answer
  21. I would love to go. A friend of mine has move out and works as a tree surgeon. He said he hasn't had to buy meat for months. I would live out there if I could. I believe they have hares like rabbits, rabbits, foxes deer galore and it is all legal
  22. My old saluki whippet would drive me mad. Would Bugger off with what ever it wanted whenever it wanted. Than randomly convince you had cracked it by placing things and rabbits back in your hand before going back to normal.
