  3. I have it in American, I reload for it and it loves 55gr - using hornady at the moment, nice solid feeling rifle, nicely engineered, smooth bolt action, way more accurate than me or many others. Very good rifle in my opinion, I have a Wildcat evolution mod on mine - does what I expect it to. Thanks
  4. Just wondering if you folks go out when it's windy? How windy is too windy? I've got a hmr that only comes out when it's completely still, but I als have a .223 and I can't decide when it's too windy. When long blades of grass sway in the breeze, is that ok? Thanks
  5. Do they mean DSC1 or DSC2? I haven't heard of a Centerfire Course. But I know that if you want deer on your ticket they (the Firearms dept) favour you to have DSC1 / 2 / or both. Could you join a shooting club which has centerfire ranges? Or have a mentor on your ticket - even though a mentor isn't something required by law so they can't force you to have a mentor condition. Are you a member of BASC? Give them a call and see what they say. If you are a member of BASC and have good reason for owning a .223 then they can't refuse unless they prove otherwise - that you have no good reaso
  6. Admin please lock this thread. Bored of the Deker vs Alsone keyboard battle. ps Deker - there'll be no need to pm me and explain your corner. This is of no use to the OP. All I can see is tit for tat and I'm bored of it. Thanks Admin
  7. No, but had sgc for 4 years. I applied for 17hmr and 223 too. Same, the 223 was only one needing mentor. I'd stick with it, get both, get a mentor who will take you out plenty, then ask for it to be taken off after 6months or so.
  8. I had mine for a year, was easy to take it off, probably could have had it taken off after 6months if I'd have spoken to my mentor sooner. Thanks
  9. Just looked at that eBay item, I've no idea how it all works, was just hoping to get hold of the whole setup. Or isn't it that easy? Maybe I should research more first. Thanks
  10. I have a cz452 American in 20''. It's all I've known and haven't considered chopping it, but maybe it's worth a think now. How much do they charge to chop it and rethread it? Thanks
  11. Anyone got nv setup for <£100? To go on a 223rem for foxes out to 120yds. Are nv switchable between rifles or do you guys just leave them setup on one rifle? Would also like it to go on my 17hmr for rabbits out to same distance. Thanks
  12. you can't reload rimfire. i'd look for 22lr and 223, cover bases better. do you have muntys or cwd on your land Thought he meant 22 hornet
  13. I'd ask to hold 220 hmr and purchase 200. 22 I'd say the same. No need to explain type of ammo. If it's first grant though you shouldn't have any ammo
  14. Who do you use locally whippeter? I'm from the same area as you and find Mike Gausman at Stag's Head, Llangeitho very reasonable
  15. Any empty .223 brass lurking around? I'll take it. Let me know what you have. Thanks
  16. What powder/primer you using whippeter? What rifle you got?
  17. got a lyman universal cutter (orange one), got the chamfer tool, got the factory crimp die. Just wondering what length to trim to Thanks
  18. Also I should add that the brass from my rifle which I have neck sized ranges from 44.50 up to 44.73
  19. Hi, I have neck resized brass which was fired from my rifle, I understand that I should now trim the case. Back to the maximum trim length of 44.70mm?? Also I have fully resized brass from another rifle, so now I will go ahead and trim that back to 44.70mm also? Let me know if I should be doing something different. Thanks
  20. I have Winchester primers and Magtech Some are small rifle, the others are small pistol? What is the difference? The choice of powder I have is Reloader 15 or Varget Thanks
  21. Type into google 'your local policing authority firearms department' or visit 'basc' website, I believe the forms can be downloaded from here and they are accepted by firearms depts or visit your local poice station and ask for the forms. I'd ask for two copies as then you have one form to practice on, as I made several mistakes
  22. Bought both off Mick, Paid him yesterday morning, magazines delivered first thing this morning. Great doing business with him, top bloke Thanks
