  1. I broke the rules on Saturday just passed Couple of the lads popped over in the afternoon, one of the local farmers had been having trouble on his land and wanted us to go up and sort it out, so we thought we'd pop over and have a look. On arrival we met with the farmer, he passed comments on my 'glorified poodles' and told us where he thought the foxes were... not wanting to hang around as it was the afternoon we let the dogs of to relieve themselves whilst we were chatting.... bad move! They went under the gate and headed straight for the farmers tip, situated behind the ba

  5. The working terrier world was today thrown further into turmoil as it came to light that a prominent Championship show Judge has been alleged to have displayed a high degree of independence and awarded Best in Show to a dog handled and owned by a "non-face" exhibitor (a ‘Sunday afternooner’). It is also alleged that the dog or it’s breeding had not been prominently advertised in the CMW, EDRD or owned by any one of the pre-eminent working terrier show breeders - it is affirmed that the dog is indeed a much respected grafter and only 'part-time' show dog. The Judge, who cannot
  6. Dear working dog owner Are you experiencing too many inferior dogs, non workers, jibbers, sheep chasers etc...? Also bundle up your dog and send him/her to the dog owner at the top of this list and add your name

  13. Most of the land I work regular I know what's on there and where all (or most) of the earths are, so I'm lucky I guess to be able to let the dogs of most of the time. Early part of season is fine as there's not much to ground as they're always out in the reed beds, get's them fit and teaches them to use their noses. Later on when the weather gets colder it's a totally different ball game. Still let em of, but got to be on my toes, as have had bad experiences in the past where I've had more than one, and a feckin lurcher to ground. If I go onto my permission elsewhere I leave one of t
