The feckin country's going mad, no fuel down here mate..
  2. Was trying to take some pics of Bedlington pup, but he wouldn't keep still. Then I spotted this big fecker in the flower bed. Any ideas?? Common/Garden spider my guess is. Just thought it was a good pic anyway.
  3. With Milly in garden this morning.. Dog pup by the way..
  4. Hand stripping will always bring out a better coat, clippers I have found in the past as already stated by Printer brings out a fluffier, lighter coat. Saying that, I clipped both my dogs at the beginning of summer because it was easier and gets the coat right back to the skin and cooler. I have been stripping them over the last few weeks and the coats are improving, when the working season begins proper, good hard work keeps the coats down anyway. Tight earths, bushing and hard work does it for the winter. I have a pup for sale out of Milly and Jack if anyone interested please PM
  5. Since when ? why would anyone breed from a dog that had never raced??? There's plenty of good racing lines to choose from so why would anyone do this...? I think the original topic and question is, when there's nothing or very little good stock available...
  6. here he is this morning. I'll try and take some better pics later.
  7. Trouble is... I only work fox, haven't done much rabbiting for a long time.... So his full bunny hunting potential might not be seen..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if your thinkin of rehoming him pm me as iwas originally after a beddy x bitch but really like the look of him and it would be a good home aswell mate with plenty of rabbits just let me know if you ever do <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've had a number of PM's offering to rehome this dog..... How can I judge who is genuine, and who is not... he would be suited to a rabbiting person rather than myse
  8. Nice looking fit lurcher you got there LB, you say she wolfed down her food last night...... what was/is the problem with her.? My mate had a lurcher some years back that wouldn't eat, always looked skinny but really was fine... lamp all night and put other 'fit' dogs to shame... I might be stating the obvious here, try feeding her when the other dogs are present, jealousy and greed normally spring a dull appetite into action.

  10. Excellent question Printer. I'm sure you're gonna get a lot of response to this ! In a perfect world we would all breed from Proven working Stock, from Proven working Bloodlines. When it's in them and in them for generations the chances are there's gonna be less wastage.. The scenario I think you're pointing at is, what if it's from working lines and through no fault of it's own (owner's illness, time or whatever) hasn't done much work... would you still breed from it if there were no other options available... there could be plenty of reasons for this too, I'll give an example: Th
  11. 19" Tall, bit of knuckle on him should make 21" probably better for ferreting as he's a bit of a lightweight. I don't know what to make of him yet, best I get some weight and exercise into him. I'd prefer them a bit bigger get the job done more effectively.
  12. 5 1/2 months, don't think he'd ever been brushed, never mind stripped.
  13. He doesn't look to bad in this one, pics can be decieving though.
  14. Here he is again, this is this afternoon after I stripped some of the puppy fluff of him, you can see how ropey he is in this, and his gut is bloated, wait til the tablets take effect I think half is weight is made up of worms.
  15. "Don't some people just Feck you off???" See you still got a bee in your bonnet F&M WTC
  16. A mate of mine used my Bedlington to his whippet cross bitch, produced a litter of pups. Found them all 'good' homes.... A knock on my door yesterday was my mate and this pup (pic below), looks like one of the good homes wasn't so good after all, skinny worm ridden pup, underweight is an understatement.... That thick coat is hiding a multitude of sins. The lass that had him said she hadn't time to look after him so was giving him away. Don't some people just Feck you off??? Anyway he's with me now....... good grubbing, worming, strippin out and some exercise...... I'll keep y
