    i have never seen one thats split prior to being fire but have seen plenty of split fired cases, as the heat upon combustion anneals the cases and causes an odd one or two of them to split, this has not effect upon the rounds performance at all its been happening since the introduction of the calibre and will continue to happen due to the wall thickness of the neck of the round.

    as far as im aware cci are still making all 17hmr ammo in the same factory with the same machines only packaging and making aesthetic differences for each company

    I have always had a few split necks, but it has never affected accuracy and I do push the limits with mine. i carnt get on with them but have to say they are intrinsically far more accurate than the man behind them

    when ive had them, had a few split necks on spent cartridges but thats about it, but after checking, thats normal due to the anealing process

    why would you bother redtails main quarry is ground game and pheasent, all of which dont need much height to take, if its for fitness then a lure would do the same

    you done the right things so far,as said by the other wash him, any scratches cuts ect clean with hibi scrub to stop any infections.
