  1. nice strong looking dog mate how tall is he? I have a 23" bull/grey bitch here and if she makes the grade id like to breed her to a big high drive saluki/grey.
  2. haha I love when my lurcler smells like a fox too
  3. yes you definitely need a sharp knife with the rabbits here in Ireland. I weighed a good few rabbits and they usually weighed between 3lbs and 4lbs with some just under 5lbs.
  4. Hot Meat I usually have a lot of time for what you say and I usually agree with what you have to say but some times you say fcuk all. it wasn't a trick question.
  5. hes only a pup still I would be all on for bringing him out but pick your slips make it as easy for him as possible. choose close slips this gives him a better chance of catching them. if you run him to hard to soon you will fcuk him up, this is just mo and others will tell you different.
  6. yes your wright the type of gun you choose is the type you like the best, then you go to a gun shop and sholder a few and then pick the one that fits you the best. no matter what gun you choose s/s u/o single or semiauto make sure it fits you because if it doesn't you wont hit shit.
  7. 10 months is imo the wright age to start training you have loads of time with him yet.
  8. I would anyway I would have my dogs out by 10 months some people think its too young and it is for a hard nights work but not for training. bring him out and start him now and then come December/January work him properly.
  9. which gun u/o, s/s, single or semi auto that's your choice which ever one you want you don't have to work your way up. what make, well that depends on how much money you want to spend and what you want from the gun. choose the type of gun you want then go to a gun shop and try a few out and see which gun fits you the best
  10. at least a bolt action will never be that costly in amo in a minute. cz 452 bolt action all the way.
  11. you will know it when you see it there could be ten pups and ten lads and each could pick a different pup. the best fox dog I ever saw was 3/8 bull 5/8 grey he is a serious dog 5 foxes a night no problem.
  12. cheers lads he lined her for the third time today so ill have my hands full soon.
  13. here's my lot. I have 2 more but I cant get the pics up no matter how small I make them.
  14. mixo is a pure c**t lads it was around here at the end of last summer and it hit bad I reckon it will be 2 or 3 years before there is rabbits worth talking about here again that's if it doesn't come back before that. it had a big effect on foxes to with there been no rabbits for them to eat. mixo = shit year for me.
  15. the only thing that's missing is a bottle of pouchin
  16. I had a little blue whippet/hound bitch a few years back pet/worker 22" tts good feet good speed and wind for a small dog. you wouldn't know she was in the house but bring her to the field and she would go all night. a whippet/hound is a good x imo.
  17. this is my CZ 452 lux .22 WMR with a 3-9x40 Nikko Stirling game king scope and a Harris bipod the hole set up cost E580 new that's about £500 or less. I would recommend this gun to anyone its great.
  18. should be a good bitch looking at the breeding. get a pic up and keep us posted over the season
  19. if there both good workers then why not. I have 3 lurchers and 2 pit bulls and there fine together but the only time they are together is when im with them
  20. might be a bit big for the class room.
  21. maybe you could use tongued and grooved or something else on the outside to make it look better.
  22. I have a cz 452 .22 WMR and I cant fault the gun in any way its a very well made and accurate gun its also nice and light for carrying around. my first rifle was a savage 93R .17 HMR another well made and accurate rifle but a bit heavy it was the heavy barrel version but im sure the light barrel version is grand.
  23. there is no real difference in the shooting style of an u/o and a semi auto so no need to get used to a different gun first and the noise and movement of the action is not a big deal. I wouldn't tell anyone first time shooter or not to stay away from a semi auto that's just ridiculous. my brothers first gun was a semi auto and he still has it and you would have to go a long way to find a better shot. if someone starts of with a semi auto then the slight extra noise and the movement of the action is not strange and not needed to be gotin used to.
  24. only the man who bred it knows what is in it but I can see lab in there to.
