  1. The police are not given permission to access your records. Your doctor cannot disclose or copy the records or show any part of them to the police. The police are given permission to obtain a medical report from your doctor which can be factual only. ie the doctors report will be a list of any relevent attendances eg. Attended doctor on 12.10.21 - complained of low mood, Attended on 05.04.19 - suffering symptoms of anxiety,.... The doctor is not allowed to give an opinion as to whether or not the facts affect your ability to hold a licence. The whole point of this system is it t
  2. I'm all for a written report of just facts with no opinion. The problem with opinion or phonecalls is if a GP is biased against owenership, a phone call opens up for opinions to be given off the record, opinions that could be based on bias and not fact. At least with a written report that is factual only, it's probably possible in theory at least, for an applicant or their legal represenatative to obtain the report under a FOA or Data protection request, thus opening up an untruthful or biased report to legal action. This at least assists in keeping reports factually accurate and opinion free.
  3. Wow that is a generous offer. ? At least you're sending them blanks. We have to bear in mind independence. ? Don't want to equip the Welsh Army. We'll leave that to the Welsh taxpayer.
  4. I don't see why we should have to pay for reports. If you apply for a driving licence and the DVLA writes to your doctor, you don't get charged for that. Even then I wouldn't mind but after the intial application report which you pay for out of your now unfairly large application fee, (don't I already pay the Police to carry out their duties through my local Government Taxes?), any report the doctor prepares on renenewal is only an addition to the notes he held since the last time you renewed, so it's not as if it's a long trawl through decades worth of notes, only the notes since the las
  5. SD I've got one to give your feo a headache (and probably you from the noise / blast) - following on from the suggestion thread: Glad you're enjoying the .22 again though. PS if you've never seen an air rifle move a floor mounted chrono weighing a few pounds back with every shot from 5 yds away, then make sure you watch the video.
  6. Surprised they allow that unless you have built a high mound along the boundary. I know of an army range further North that was shut down because there was a public footpath maybe a 1/2 mile to the back of it and a road a few hundred yards to the side, I'd say the road a good hundred feet above target height and the footpath in the distant background a good 200 -300 feet above! It would take a hell of a miss to get either and I severely doubt a ricochet could reach either, but the proximity meant they closed it down as unsafe after using it safely since before WW1. I googled some pic
  7. Just surpised you're only using 30fpe. Getting old? Kick a bit too much? Only joking. Suprised though as thought the Mk3 was up to 79fpe in .22: FX Impact M3 Black FAC WWW.SPORTSMANGUNCENTRE.CO.UK The New FX Impact M3 Black FAC Air Rifle - The Most Advanced, Most Innovative, Most Exciting, & Most Accurate Air Rifle Ever Created

On a more serious note, some suggestions from Google: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/cts-target-stand-with-spike?a=1864887&__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=pmd_vkkmkjS7xKlVVPMkMY.RdRv7D7txW60cOZPQYsmGbjQ-1634601653-0-gqNtZGzNAnujcnBszQsl Allen Company Deluxe Paper Target Steel Stand, Holds 2-Targets up to 14"W, Black - Walmart.com WWW.WALMART.COM Buy Allen Company Deluxe Paper Target Steel Stand, Holds 2-Targets up to 14"W, Black at Walmart.com https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/sure-sit
  9. Sub 12 the .17's going to be flatter and faster as smaller lighter pellet. As you already have an FAC, wouldn't rule out getting FAC air. It could be a game changer with the heavier larger calibres / heavier pellets. Sub 12 .20 is supposed to be a good performer. there is an issue in there isn't much choice in pellets as isn't as popular calibre as the traditional choices. I believe it offers the best of both worlds. However, my air knowledge is limited. Best asking technical questions in the air forum.
  10. I found you another possibel contender Bernard. I stumbled across this by accident. I'm not an airgun person so can't comment beyond providing this review, which may or may not be impartial as I don't know the channel. However, how does a PCP Air Rifle in .25 Cal sound for less than £300 brand new? A review from someone who's channel I know and respect - Matt is a big name in the airgun world - (I haven't watched this one so could go either way): BTW it's also available in .177 and .22 if .25 doesn't float your boat.
  11. Probably just trying to gather the info they want to restrict gun ownership further. Hence the canned answers. Guess there's probably no issue with shooters who fill it out but I'm guessing plenty of antis will as well and petition for the most severe restrictions. It's all ridiculous. You can't stop these incidents although arguably here signs were ignored. 3 recent incidents bring home how you can stop someone determined, the Norwegian guy with a bow and the guy who stabbed the MP today with a knife. The French terror incdients with cars also illustrate this. If someone is determi
  12. In other parts of the world, higher calibre airguns are used for big game. The ultimate of these is probably the Umarex Hammer: Airgun Bear Hunting With The Umarex Hammer - Hard Air Magazine HARDAIRMAGAZINE.COM For airgun bear hunting in this video, the Umarex Hammer is loaded with 400 Grain soft lead slugs from the Buffalo Arms Company. Yep it's .50 cal. but it's also 700ft lbs (only 1/2 a .223 in energy) and only 760fps! Bears, Buffalo, Elk, don't seem to know the difference: I don't imagine English Deer would either b
  13. Yeah, with all the buttons I think Bernard thought it was a video game and he was going to get an extra life. ? That's probably why he didn't get along with it. He was walking up to the gate and pressing the "jump" button and he wasn't jumping. He was pressing the sprint button and wasn't sprinting. He was pressing the fire button and wasn't firing.... But the Aliens still came down and took the fox....or was that the car headlights and his eyesight... (sorry Bernard, couldn't resist. In the same boat mate.) I think that was the point. He still can.
  14. BASC is circulating the survey currently to members and on social media. I've filled it out. TBH like most Government surveys it's a bit canned. It's mutliple choice rather than letting you have a free say. Still strongly advise everyone fills it out though just to stop the antis swinging the vote the opinion the wrong way. It's bascially around medical checks following the Plymouth incident.
  15. I take it back. Just found the FX Sniper Mk3 FAC at £1250! https://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/fx-wildcat-mkiii-synthetic-sniper-fac
  16. Yes but you can never turn it down again. Once converted to FAC an air rifle must remain FAC. Peersonally I'd go pre-charged but from your post I'm guessing the issue is how much you want to spend. The AGT Urgan has just had a very good review. It's not cheap but cheaper than an FX. Base rifle is about £1500. Video review here:
  17. Design wise it seems better than the FX. Prefer the look to a skeletonised FX and touches such as a recessed mag etc seem nice. I'm guessing the main difference from a functional standpoint maybe the plenum chamber although the tester had no complaints or issues
  18. In the UK we have the Deer Act. This contains our calibre requirements: Deer Act 1991 WWW.LEGISLATION.GOV.UK An Act to consolidate certain enactments relating to deer with amendments to give effect to recommendations of the Law Commission. Funny thing is, Scottish deer fall over and die in shock at the sight of a .22-250.
  19. Yep The FX impacts at 80ft lbs or some even at 140ft lbs, are the business when it comes to air. But, I'm no expert on air and your intial 4 gun is not a bad plan. I just think for your use there's some duplication that could be better with 3 or even 2 guns. Without the pens I personally would have gone HMR + maybe CF if I needed long range fox. With the sheds there's an argument for air but then depending on FAC or non FAC affects the need for the HMR. Without long range fox, HMR might have done both pests and close range fox, force dependent. Others might have chosen .22lr instead
  20. I don't normally post in this section as I don't use air but stumbled across this review of a new gun that rivals the FX. Thought some of you may be interested:
  21. ? I was going to say to the OP, check out some of the videos on Youtube from AirArmsHunting SA and others: https://www.youtube.com/c/AirArmsHuntingSA You'll find an FX Impact with slugs @ 60ft lbs used to 140yds. A .22rf will suffer huge amounts of bullet drop beyond 100yds but is good below that. Can be pushed further, but will need a lot of compensation. That's why I said above they're all fullfilling almost the same role when it comes to small pest shooting in open ground. 0-100 yds in the open, little to choose. Indoors air more suited. You may need a non slug barrel to chan
  22. It always depends on the force. Some forces are really relaxed and helpful. Others bend the rules to the max. Some fall in between. There's nothing wrong with FAC air. I'd argue it's as good as .22LR and HMR on small vermin such as rabbits, grounded birds and rats. There's plenty of people shoot rabbits and birds in excess of 100yds with FAC air, although usually at those ranges it's slugs and 60ft lbs+ rather than the more common uk guns which seem to be in the majority in the 30ftlbs range. Still good for almost as long as .22lr though on rabbits. I confess I'm not an expert on air so
  23. Not sure you need hmr and .22LR and FAC air, you may get questioned to justify a need for more than 1 of these calibres. HMR will despatch foxes beyond LR albeit still at close range. Several on here have found hmr although noisier to be less prone to spook rabbits than a moderated .22. Probably I'm guessing down to a lighter bullet impact at the prey end especially with misses. I also don't see the need for FAC air. It pretty much crosses over with the rf's for vermin. FAC air is a no no for fox. I'd say either one of the .22LR or HMR would satisfy your needs for vermin / close
