  1. Nope...I had a bad time of it...but i went and I did it but I got my arse spanked when the dog i had (R.I.P) jacked.But...you know, at least I'm honest about the dog being not good enough and, best of all, at least i went out and ran my dog on the two largest species in the daytime on the open ground. I tried. i failed. that's about the truth of the matter. No big secret, i've wrote about it before. It was the adventure...that what it;'s all about....the adventure is everything......but, that's only one man's opinion.... Gotta try in order to fail. More than most will ever do.good point....y

  4. Mine stays indoors...mixes brilliantly with family(three kids of 5 an under) but once the lead comes out hes totally focused on me because he knows where hes going an what hes going to do...great indoors game as the day is long out in the field...atb gravedigger
  5. On the original question at the start of the thread....best dog i ever seen taking roe regularly single handed was a beddie/greyxcollie/grey...it stood 26"tts an was schooled with an experienced sal/greyxcollie/grey...from a few months old it was taken along an let shown the older dog flush course an catch the deer where possible...it was allowed in on the kill to get used to sights smells etc...once fully matured both physically an mentally it was allowed to start working deer...first few courses seen the young dog basically grab any extremitie it could an taking a good few headbutts an kicks
  6. same here mate dogs only.....but i know a lad who kept the runt from a litter an it turned out to be the biggest phsyically an the best hunter out that litter lol...i pretty much look for what the above posts have mentioned....
  7. No problem mate all the best with your search
  8. It does really come down to "tools for the job" an also personal preference....mine snaps up rabbits an will split a hedge in two to get at something....hes just under 26"tts...if its short fast bursts of running then a beddie/whip would prob be a good choice as your not after something of a flat out coursing dog....ask about an try get out wi a few people an see different types of dog run if thats possible ,let you see the different running styles of different types an maybe use that as a yardstick to what your after for yourself
  9. well done...nice lookin dog that mate.....
  10. My first running dog was an ex track greyhound bitch lol.....useless for hunting but opened up a whole new world for me....you got any ideas on the type of ground an quarry you will be running ?? Both should be taken into account an try find a pup to suit...my own dog (avatar pic) is 2nd X beddie/whip(sire)X collie/grey/whip(dam)....was quite easy to train an entered to quarry with no problem at all ( but was schooled with an experienced dog)..hes good wi other dogs/livestock though i only hunt with just me an him...think it builds a better bond between dog an handler...good luck in your searc

  15. I worked the " door" for years from blood on the floor pubs to your snobby arsed wine places, one thing i learned...... There is no reasoning wi drunks lol..gangsters will avoid conflict by an large as its bad for buisness....my cousin was a very successfull bare knuckle fighter an made friends wi a lot of "gangsters".. Only friends because they didnt want hurt....better to have a fighter on your side than against you..most of them are pussys that have worked there way up through backstabbin(literally) an grassin.... You get the odd few that are proper, but there few an far between..its a w
