I know its hard but you must keep that lamp off whilst the dogs hunting up, even using it to check where the dog is, is just giving the dog what he wants, try an stay in on lighter nights, I've found young dogs try it on and hunt up more if there's a moon, whereas on a pitch black night the dog struggles an returns quicker.
