He is a stunning looking dog, gooooooorgous

Went for a stroll today and just wanted to let you know about it After about an hour, a young lab rushed us, ignoring his owners whistle and went straight up to my dogs face sniffing her, all over her in fact. You know the story, young dog learning the ropes and learning some manners. Said hello to to the owners and moved on, no problems. After about 2 and a half hours she caught herself a woodie and we moved on. On the way back through a large wood we literally stumbled accross three fallow bucks, about 15 foot away. The obligatory "stand off" and then they legged it, my girl twitched, I cal

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were one of those "internet hunters". I bet your a 16/17 year old ginger kunt, that sits on here all afternoon, after finishing a shift as a baker. Now go and put some holes in donuts!!!!! cuz its the only way you'll get a f*ck!!! you seem a bully, probly some kid you picked on at school nicked all your mole traps Hello Mick, I find you accusing someone else a bully ironic, as you were asking everyone to out people and ridicule them

Fantastic post Colin, i've always said that if you work with or hunt with dogs and stop caring, its time to quit and stack baked beans at Tescos.

Just a quick thought and something to consider, depending how your dogs get on but spaying a bitch can make her more dominant. Its not normally a problem but if one of your bitches is very dominant it may be worth considering, although if your not bothered about breeding the health benefits almost always outweigh other issues.

Your right Pete i'm not. I have been a dog warden before for a few councils, have a staff and have had my dog attacked before by dogs of various breeds so I can understand where everyone is coming from. I personally dont believe in blanket bans on any breed but something does need to be done to stop the wrong people owning the wrong dogs. A lot of dog attacks in my believe occur because the owner has ruined the dog through ignorance or deliberatly made it aggressive. If your first car was a powerfull sports car, odds are you would crash it. If your first dog is a potentially powerfull and domi

Issuing fines for not picking up your dogs shit That can be one of the jobs but I think there is a bit more to it Every local authority has to provide a stray dog service and the dog warden collects stray dogs and arranges their kenneling for a minimum of 7 days. If the dog is not collected it then becomes the property of the council and can be rehomed. They normally run an educational programme, talking to schools and clubs etc and provide a microchipping service. Now for the dangerous dog stuff! They can and do get involved with dog aggression and dog attacks. In some places they have the

The problem with the insurance idea is that you would need effective enforcement as it tends to be the law abiding that complies with the rules. For example one of the reasons car premiums are so high is due to uninsured drivers and the only reason there are not more uninsured drivers is because of the consequences of being caught without insurance. it also leads on that this type of individual tends to be the type that would have a dog for the macho image. Very stereotypical I know but the sort of t**t that has a bull breed to increase his street cred without any understanding of the breed ma

I recently purchased a collar from StrongStuff and I can recomend them. Well made, well thought out and excellent customer service. You will not regret it! Whatever dogs I have in the future, my collars will be from strongstuff, if he made ferret collars I'ld get them too

I used to have hunter Balmorals years ago when they were the hunter classics. I recently got some seeand allaround wellies, which are lower in the range than the ones your gonna get and I love them. The sole has great grip, I have done 12 mile plus walks in them on very slippery chalk/clay and they performed brilliantly. This was on the south downs so up and down plus slippery! I would recommend them and as the ones your thinking of are higher up the Seeland range they could well be excellent. The sole has great grip on chalk/clay/flint, in fact better than any sole I have ever walked in and t

Well done, fantastic job

The people that did this should be disgusted with themselves, it would seem that a bunch of animal lovers have beaten a dog to death. It makes my blood boil, i know that if i was the owner of the dog, it would be stand by your beds time and whoever killed my dog would be very wise to be looking over their shoulder. May the dog RIP and sympathy to the owner.

A lesson in how to make friends and influence people.

To keep a sustainable population of quarry, I believe that they should be left alone at some stage during the year at least, especially when weather conditions are going to have a negative effect on numbers. Apart from pest control our business is hunting, not eradication. Over hunting does no one any favours.

Getting The Ferret Off The Rabbit Once It Has Hold , Quickest Way ?

If reincarnation is true..................i dont wanna come back as a ferret! -
Thanks for sharing that, I could really relate to it. The bond with your dog is truely special, soul mate, best friend. To make the decision to have them put to sleep is the most difficult thing to do, but I think it is the last and greatest thing that you can do for them. I owe my dogs everything and I think that you and your dog were very lucky to have met each other. I had to have my dog put to sleep many years ago because he bit someone on the face, the decision sounds easy I know but I felt responsible as I felt that I put him into that situation. Sounds silly I know but it took me years

I think that in that instance it would make no difference and that the rules about seeking treatment for problems and injuries to prevent or stop suffering would apply. Farmer or not we all have the same legal obligations under the animal welfare act.
-
I think its that when farmers dock tails or de horn it is considered necessarry to stop injuries and flystrike etc. But when an injury or problem occurs to a companion animal the owner has a responsibility to seek medical attention to prevent or stop any suffering.

Sorry to hear that. At least she went doing what she loved and at least it would've been very quick. Best Wishes.

Great post regarding the association!
-
I just read the post carefully and you said that the dog did run once. Im sure the dog will come good with time but it may be worth finding out if the dog had a bad experience when being taken out to run after game. If he did at such a young age it is possible that he has made a negative association! This could be to a vehicle your friend uses to get to the game, clothing, the lamp! Ask your friend to think carefully about the time he did run and if anything went wrong. Just a thought and good luck with the dog, as said before the switch will turn on I am sure.

.........Finally Fair one, might have got carried away in my post! But............my staff is the most dog safe dog I have ever had. She has been attacked herself, twice by other breeds and did not even react. I am just saying that it is all too easy to label all staffs as aggressive when it is common sense that if a dog is encouraged to be aggressive, it will exhibit aggressive behaviour and that those who want to have the hardman image are, unfortunately attracted to bull breeds. Anyway I am just saying that staffs can be just as trustworthy as any other dog and rather than detract from

I have a staff and she is totally safe and well adjusted around dogs. People like this make my blood boil on so many levels, they give the breed a bad name and you can understand why those not knowing the breed are worried about them when moorons like this are walking around bigging themselves up. SAD LITTLE PEOPLE. For any reading this that do not know staffs, they are products of their upbringing, if a cruel, sadistic low life who enjoys cruelty and suffering raises any dog what do you think will happen. I hope the cavy is on the mend

How are your dogs today......any improvement?
