Never seen a first cross, but I've got an old dog with a bit of irish terrier blood in him, tightest running style I've ever seen used to be a real pleasure to watch him turning them inside out This is him in his earlier days the old boy is 12 now and still jumps up every time I pick a lead up, just wish he was 2 again

Every year the roe population seems to be getting that bit higher, and that's up here in the north east, it must be a nightmare in areas where you've got the other deer species to contend with aswell when you're just trying to have a quiet walk with the dogs.   17. Been interested in this cross for a while, I bet they take some beating for the smaller land, and like bird says MB whippets are some dogs, my mate works one and what a work rate and good recovery she's got
  18. I haven't read the EDRD for years, but I can remember it being top notch a proper country mag aswell, don't know if they still do but they used to send you a free trial mag out before you parted with your coin

Good story cheers JCM I remember one day we were crossing back over some fields after a day out three of us with four lurchers and a terrier, when a hare come loping over the stubble about 100 and odd yards ahead of us and lay down, when we got to it all the dogs put their noses to the ground, but not one of them could put it up, and not one of us could see it anywhere, they certainly are a real mystery sometimes no wonder there is so much folklore myths and legends written about the cat of the wood
