  8. build quality and light gathering abilty go to the german optic ian, but if it's a matter of price check outthe zeiss conquest, excellent for the money. and not much differance between the two.
  9. Sounder mate ring the N.A.R.G.C. this is not right, you can only shoot deer on the permission that you are given providing that there is deer on that land, but you could be a guest of someone has permission elsewhere and shoot on that land. now for the foxes, as long as you are given permission to shoot on the land that has foxes and you are not discharging your weapon from the road you are fine. i think it's about 70ft from a public road? some law dating back to horse drawen vechle's, think the garda in question has something againest shooter's. check it out with the N.A.R.G.C BUT I THI
  10. PEOPLE PLEASE, september is nearly here, you can kill stuff then, so don't be getting all wriled up, GENREAL TALK should mean just that......................................................... HAPPY HUNTIN'..................
  11. your allowed to take the product back if it doesn't do as described, on any advertisement, or if your not happy with it, tell them, you want your money back ,you don't have to take a credit note either, good luck.
  12. mate i'm thinking it's a bit hard for roe, the 243 with right placement is excellent and i've never had a problem with it. IF the deer don't see you move they don't run.... just stick within 200 yards or so and it's great, if looking for something dual puspose then how about the 6.5x55? excellent cal.
  13. Ok, just thought i would ask if anyone thought that the show in birr was poor, i know for a fact the the fee for stands was expensive, well i thought, but does this keep the trade stands away, The shows were of a fare sandard, but the trade stands for shooters where few and far between. Not alot in the clothing range either. it was a long way for me personally to travel, and i guess maybe i was expecting too much...........thoughts please. I think i'll save up and head to the CLA game fair next year........ hear it's great.......

  15. HAVE the nikon monarch's myself this last 4 years, and you simply won't buy a better pair of bin's for so little money, excellent at both dusk and dawn, optically i would put them up with the leica's only differance is the saving on the pocket. i know of a fella who left his on the roof of his jeep while stalking only to be lost. was heard all down the valley at 6am in the morning. plus he didn't have the heart to tell his wife how much they really cost..................................
  16. Think the seperate range finder is the way to go. i use the lecia 1200 scanmaster excellent piece of kit and great battery life into the bargain, also very accurate at ranging which i found some weren't, also easy to use, As a few friends have purchased one's with all sort's of little extra's on them but they don't know how to use it. NO BRAINER.

  20. LIVER FLUKE is an ENDOPARASITE (a parasite that lives within the body). the life cycle starts with the adult laying eggs which are shed through the dung of the said animal throughout the winter. once the temperature rises above about 10*c they begin to hatch, the newly hatched miracidia then have only 24 hours to find a microscopic mud snail, this is the intermediate host, once inside the mud snail there is a multiplication phase and thousands of the then 9cercariae )after a few weeks are released and attach onto blades of grass in the form of a small cyst. the animal then eats the grass a
  21. the sak i hear is a good mod for the .17hmr but i use mine unmod. for the simple reason i didn't want to take a chance on the accuracy of this amazing little weapon. the .17hmr is not really a fox rifle dean but if the shot is placed and distance not to great then there's no problem, ballistically it's not for the job but on crows mag's etc it's excellent and i've shot bunnies at 200 yards with it. i find the hornady bullets suit my gun the best. they also give good accuracy. common sense is all it takes to get the best of the weapon. good luck..............
  22. Same as that dean o mine is the heavy barrell as well i found after cleaning it took about fifteen rounds to come to herself again. i also zero her for 100 yards. drop tables are as follows. 100yards drop .000000 125 .94 inches 150 2.59 175 5.08 200 8.54 225 13.14 250 19.07 275 26.56 300 35.72 hope these are of use to you. rated for 2550fps.
  23. IF it's an accuracy nut you say then you'll love this shot with my .17hmr 452 CZ after i got the foreend sorted. it's shot at 100 yards and is 1/4 moa accuracy.............i shit you not it's 5 shots by the way. sorry for the crap photo but i had to get close..... 6.18mm at 100 yards centre to centre.
