Had a good little Russell bitch a few years back , best dog I ever owned . Would find anywhere and always stayed till the job was done . Would like another one just like her but they seem to be few and far between ! Hope you find one pal .

I use moxidectine and have never had any problems, I also use bacox , these are the only drugs I use on my British birds and have good success

Well done with your birds millet ! But withought trying to put a dampner on things , you haven't really bred a British bird until you have achieved it by being reared by its proper parents , rung it , and got it through the moult . That's why breeding goldies , bullies ect is so hard , because when doing it properly you encounter all the problems that come with the territory ! I understand its the easy option to foster them out to canaries and try and eliminate the problems that there true parents throw at us , but at the end of the day that's all part of breeding these beautiful things . I would go for a border if you can get one bred right , they tend to be laid back but still work well if you get one from the right person .

Well lads , it's that time of year again ! The weather has eventually picked up and I will be putting the nest pans in for the bullies within the next few weeks as I usually do this time of year . Just wondered if those of you who breed bullies are thinking along the same lines or if you have put them in already or are leaving it even later . I know it's all about watching individual birds but just wondered the general sensus of opinion ? Nice one , hammo

I used to have a Pitbull that had a similar skin complaint , swooped his food to a cheaper food with less protein and it cured it instantly .

Moxidectine will irradicate them , one drop on the birds thigh , repeat every 21 days for 3 treatments and job done ! Hope this helps . Hammo.

hiya millet , you don't need put the hawthorn in water mate . Just snap the twigs of the hawthorn bushes and this time of year they are covered in little buds , the birds go mad for them as they are withought trying to grow them . They also love blackthorn just as much ! Once the dandelions are out feed them plenty and this will condition your birds quickly and better than anything you can buy . Called round tong pos last nyt for a quick brew , despite this freezing weather his bullie cocks were chasing the hens vigorously ! Another month and the nest pans will be in weather permitting ? He's going to post some pics of some younguns all being well , fingers crossed eh . Good luck to all you British bird , mule , and hybrid breeders this coming season . Hammo .
