  3. Wouldnt stop me either, at the end of the day you cant tell a golden eagle to stop chasing deer lol
  4. At least youve been getting out, weathers been crap here, planned to get out today but had to go somewhere else so havent had chance, tommorow for sure providing the weather conforms
  5. Theres been debate over whether it is allowed or not but the generally accepted view is that it isnt.
  6. Thought id make this topic for lads to share there current catapults, ive reduced mine by a few catties by gifting them away, so just these 4 for me now Took game with all of them except the last one, but i should get it blooded before long So get your current catties up
  7. Ye i would as well they just look right, but if i cant get on with the squares im not having it doing nothing lol
  8. Had a look at the milbro site and im still wanting the traditional shape. Will get one soon i think and use the squares, if i dont get on with them i will just put some looped Chinese tubes on it.
  9. Even experienced female harris hawks can struggle with hare, i would say a muntjac would be the biggest and even then its a miracle, roe deer is utter bollocks.
  10. Thanks mate, I dont use a light to spot them, but i use it when shooting so i can see what type of covers in front of them and blocking the shot.
  11. Went for a quick roosting session, shot this hen pheasant with the antler catty and barnett tubes and a 14mm steel ball bearing Perfect headshot if ever there was one Please note the pheasant was shot against its silhouette and no light was used in the shooting of it
  12. Im debating whether to get a milbro catty or not, however id definetly want to keep with the old traditional look and put squares on it. Anybody had any experience with the milbro, how do they shoot? Whats the squares like? Im shooting at most game at night now, pretty close up stuff even for catty ranges so huge powers not really necessary but i dont want to be just tickling the game lol anybody know the best place for squares, preferably the black stuff?
  13. How i do it when i cut my own http://slingshotforum.com/topic/1948-cutting-bands-on-the-cheap/?hl=%2Bcutting+%2Bbands+%2Bcheap
  14. https://www.(!64.56:886/jack.d.wells Have a look at the dead rabbit picture a little down the page and read the comments, they let two babies go The idiot with hims tagged in the picture aswell
  15. Now there ya go, I wouldn't have had you down as a BOP kind of bloke mate, I'd have thought all those hawking days were too much f*****g about. Don't get me wrong, hawks are my favourite animals, but those hawking days can be like watching paint dry. Not sure what youve been watching, maybe just a hawk walk? hunting with birds of prey is the total opposite to boring
  16. Thanks mate, got to admit i expected a lot more kills this season by now, but my hunting time has been restricted from what it was last season and rabbit numbers are down, i will keep it going till he gets put down for moult anyway
  17. For me its purely just the company of flying the hawks with mates, other than that he does fine on his own, cast flying probably puts more game in the bag, problem is sometimes it stops yours making the kill as the other one is getting it for one reason or another, even though yours could have got it without the other, but thats just a part of cast flying that has to happen
  18. Just how it goes sometimes mate, i was gutted about the crows, he flew so hard for them and i was convinced he was about to get his first, wasnt to be though
  19. Kill number 13: Went for a quick fly on the back field, saw a rabbit run into a hedge where i know there isnt any holes under it, so i kicked the hedge and the rabbit came out the other side, the bird set off the fist and took it after a 40 yard chase But before all this there was a group of 4 crows in the middle of the field, the bird set off from the tree and got withing a metre of them before they got up and flew off, the bird was so unlucky and i was gutted for him
  20. Just another thing i can say ive had a go at... and can form my own opinion.... instead of listening to other peoples... Cant fault you for that, id probably do the same if i could be arsed lol
  21. Saw these on the other forum, great for the fun factor but not really needed in any other uses.
