  1. Absolute favourite is my bill hays prototype Also love my bill hays top shot
  2. Some lads just aren't comfortable showing their housing mate, nothing to hide but falconry is full of people waiting to pick faults
  3. A mate brought his female along tonight to try her on the lamp for the first time. As expected she wasn't looking down the beam like most hawks on their first go. So we let her watch mine first. Had a few really long flights with Freya, even hitting one on the arse but it bucked her off. I had a feeling that there would be some ferals in the barn with it being icy cold. Sure enough two was perched in the rafters. Let my mates female off and she missed. Both set off flying, let mine off and she went straight up and plucked one out the air, she knows exactly how to fly them now.
  4. M-8 nuts but finding 10mm lead shoots a treat and hits hard with my long drawn singles
  5. Had a few with my natural. Don't use it that often, don't know why really because it fits the hand mint
  6. Been out today, few chases on rabbit but nothing came of it. Think I'm gonna fly her through until next Monday then put her down for moult.
  7. There you go £1.75 http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/400840794878?nav=SEARCH
  8. Lol. You could probably get them cheaper if you look around. Look just the ticket &ff14=108'>http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/161501341621?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=m&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=&ff14=108
  9. There's a quick release what ive seen for keep nets for fishing. They fit onto a bank stick. I'm sure one could be put on a stick and the bottom of a catty so a catty can be put on and off in seconds
  10. I just can't seem to get my red tail going at night, done loads of training with him at night, lure, dummy bunny, carcass etc etc, will chase and catch them all, but put a live rabbit down the lamp and it's like he hasn't got the confidence to fly at them, he goes to fly then just clings on to my glove and drops to the ground, very annoying! I've managed to walk right up to squatters and he still won't fly them!!pickled my head a bit! Any ideas?? My male Harris wouldn't fly them on the lamp at all mate. Totally refused any but would smash them in the day
  11. Always tied them on the forks just as you would bands, don't like looped tubes myself, couldn't hit a cows arse with them
  12. Used to shoot instinctive and do ok. Since ive started aiming though I wouldn't go back, more accurate than ive ever been
  13. Freya's first triple tonight! plan was to meet up with brad and his male this time instead of the female and try for a few feral pigeons with him and fly mine on the rabbit. Walking on the path to the pigeon spot brad hears something in the hedge, so I kick the hedge with the lamp on and out pops a rabbit. My female chases and nails it. Fed her a decent amount and traded her off, not intending to fly her again as its seldom I go for multi kills really, prefer to finish her session off on a high, so now we was just gonna fly brads male at the pigeons. Got to the spot and was soon on some pigeo
  14. Out with my mate for a mooch with his female too. First chase was mine on a crow. Stayed on the other side of the hedge all the way up to it. Threw the bord over the hedge and she dove for it, hit it, rolled then the crow popped out her feet and went after that we did a few sets but the rabbits were either running down the hedge or refusing to bolt, my mate pulled three out the holes already dead from the ferret. Another set the rabbit bolted and stayed just far enough from the hedge for my female to smash it, they both did a front flip and hit the ground hard but she held on. Out after cro
  15. Don't know where people get this 3ft lb from lol. Ive hit pheasants in the head from 5 m with a lot more than that and only knocked them out. Same with rabbits
  16. Ok mate, I wouldn't advice anybody to shoot past 20 m myself though. 9.5 steel with fast bands will only do 8-9 ft lb of energy anyway so at 40 yards thats gonna be reduced.
  17. Save your money lads, these have broke after only a few days light use. First they wouldn't record and now they have just broken completely.
  18. 40m? Bit optimistic mate lol. I wouldn't take a shot past 20m with a catty
  19. Here they are now They actually fit all the sight picture that I want now The camera is that light I'm beginning to wonder whether mounting one to the hawk would be possible using a backpack like the transmitters usually go on
  20. Plus they are b*****ds when I'm fishing lol
