Unlucky mate, all going well I should have a pointer for next season, about time I bit the bullet and got one. Just hoping to drop on a nice one or an older pup. Got to make my mind up on what breed first lol
Out with hawkingyorkshire for a couple of hours today. Came to the first set and dropped the ferret in, a rabbit bolted but remained in the cover. I kicked the cover and the rabbit bolted out into the open but froze. Brads female flew it but missed and the rabbit set off again. My female gave chase and took it just before it got through the hedge
The next set the rabbit bolted but made the mistake of freezing just outside the hole and brads female dropped down and nailed it
Was a good stroll out
First time I've been able to get out in the good weather in ages. So went out early doors after everybodies presents were opened. Dropped the ferret into a rock set, first rabbit bolted but made it too tight for the hawk to do anything. Second one bolts and after a nice flight through the dense tree line she had it.
Weather looks to be better for his week so can start getting some game put away
By law as long as the owl can spread its wings fully and turn round its fine, however the chance if feather damage in a cage is really, birds of prey aren't to be kept as pets in the home. He should get a parrot
Probably a Harris in juvenile plumage. I would get a dead rabbit and drag it to see if it will come down. Then at least you can check the rings if its rung up
