  1. Are they not available any more then, I'm sure Drennen used to do them, maybe in "hook to nylon." Drennen still do them, do a Google search on Drennen sweetcorn hooks
  2. If you can put large pieces of wood in rather than lots of small pieces and turn down the draft to minimum you may be lucky, but it is hard to make it last all night. Any way the heat in your place will last and lighting it is half the fun . Do you know what wood you're using?
  3. I'd like to see some pic's and what about the milage? is it yellow and blue?
  4. Large pieces of dry hard wood(oak, apple, etc) on a slowburn. How big is your stove?
  5. I have only ever had to get one dog done and that was almost 20 years ago. If you see the size of my dogs turds you would know why. Anal glads should be self cleaning with a good meat and bone diet.
  6. Looks like Christmas dinner to me . Jacrabbit what is the dog in the pic? a Elk hound?
  7. Nice pic's, I get through over 140kg of seed a year , mainly sunflower hearts, also peanuts. Used to use Nigger seed but found it not versitile enough, try sunflower hearts they are great.
  8. Do you know if you can get red filters for these torches?
  9. Wasn't this tread about Wheatens working cover?
  10. I have just purchased a Led Lenser P17 torch, it takes 3 x D batteries, 210 lumens, batteries last 280 hours on 15% and the beam is supposedly 1087 feet. £70 I tried to get some imformation about LED torches on here but you all know feck all . I thought it would be a good pocket lamping torch, especially if you tend to go astray . I will let you know how I get on yc. the torch I have purchased is the upgraded P17
  11. Was they wearing seat belts? Never be affraid to ask a driver to slow down if you think they are driving too fast, it could be the best request you have ever made.
  12. Is it? Try reading the responses in this forum, when certain people are argued with or read of someone being challanged/stopped in the countryside. Their first response seems to be abuse/violence. 'I'd have battered the c**t' appears to be the response of choice. Now this may well not be representative of hunters as a whole, but it's the response of a substantial minority on here, and it rather undermines your argument. I'm affraid some of what you say is true, but you must remember there is good and bad in all. It doesn't take long to work out who are the decent and res
  13. Hello Broady, I would like to see your mastiff before I cast my sarcastic opinion towards you, because at the moment my memory is saying that the present English Mastiff is offering not a lot to a hunting breed. Look forward to seeing your dog
  14. A Queeny stove, but I'll tell you it shouldn't have a dog sitting in front of it There was one on here for sale a while back. That is a nice fire place sitting behind it too, good colours.
  15. I've had a Wheaten and it was OK in cover but due to the type of fur of a true Wheaten they get bound up a bit with dead vegetation especially brambles. There are lots of much better cover dogs.
  16. Give it a couple of slices of bread and butter, it'll make it go further and don't let it kiss you .
  17. What does th Dam do? And what size (height & weight) are the parents?
  18. How much are they and where is the money going?
  19. I can sense another thread coming on in the new year "What did you do with your calendar"
  20. Drowning in cages, I just couldn't do it.
  21. Lumens doesn't mean a good beam, it just means brightness. Its all to do with the shape of the reflector and lense shape. LED lenser looks pretty good
  22. Tescos don't do the 3 watt cree led any more.
  23. Size of pups and even adult sizes should be picked for the job you intend them to do yc. I have picked 5 pups that have been the smallest in the litter 4 of those being terriers for good reason. And the most recent a Bull/Greyhound that was a left over and I must say she is a great all rounder, totally fearless.
