  1. I think Fox digger needs it how many his bitch is going to have
  2. I did nt see him run Lee ,but I asked a lot of questions ,before mentioning I was looking for a stud.I don't know any lads who course regularly,so access to this type of dog ,for me,is difficult,I heard off quite a few lads some who'd seen him some who had similar bred stuff , and there seemed a pattern to the type of dog they threw,I also asked a few questions of lads who had pups off previous litters,so knew he was throwing a decent pup, names in the coursing game don't really mean a lot to me ,but I've researched and asked a lot from people who know razor and his ancestors and the types the
  3. Go compare ,compare the market,Money supermarket or try http://lmgtfy.com http://www.giyf.com

  7. As I say mate, most these phrases come from dog training ,and they take a dogs mind very serious, lol and like to give new catch words. Chasing and killing sheep is prey drive but necessary wouldn't call it hunting instinct Too deep for me
  8. But having said all that,I think prey drive is more of a catch phrase used in dog training circles to describe those traits, so in lurchers prey drive would mean hunting instinct to a degree I'd think
  9. Prey drive is the instinct to find herd catch kill bite, and the separate parts of it are highlighted in different dogs or breeds. Prey drive makes a collie herd,a spaniel hunt,a police dog track or if ordered bite ,a greyhound chase etc etc. So you'd say a malinois has high prey drive it's not necessary a hunting instinct, yet a Bassett has hunting instinct but not super high prey drive.....I think lol
  10. Shh...as regards to deer I would have just slipped lol,Fox just made sure the dog is mature enough mentally, then taking it slow ,letting it keep winning,as soon as the dog looked as though it wasn't having fun leave it,but most would've been straining at the lead and you would've have to hold them back, Edited to add instinct will take over 9/10 times your job is knowing when not to slip
  11. I would pts how would you live with yourself if rabbits were harmed, Failing that keep on a lead, neuter muzzle, and say 100 hail Mary's Hope this helps
  12. I wouldn't suggest telling them a Fox bit your dog anyway, as the vet may well phone the police on you. if you are working dogs try to get an understanding countryside vet and insurance,if you feel you need it. Also a decent first aid kit that will deal with Minor cuts and and "nasty bites" that a vet needn't see.But hunting rabbits you maybe just need a bit of antiseptic
  13. Thanks hot meat Yea I've seen panacur paste and syrup as well as Drontal syrup I use Wormers off a member on here atm just wondering if ordinary wormer s are ok to use while pregnant thanks Roy

  19. Yea mate,if she wasn't pregnant I know of a litter similar bred to my bitch, I'd have tried for one of those. Plus lads who have showed interest in mine could have got sorted, for £25 it Makes perfect sense.the vets said £75
  20. to be honest mik, wish I'd have bred her 2 years ago but selfishly didn't want to be with out her , as I only work one lurcher ,did look for a pup but there was nothing around That I knew well enough to know if they suit,ATB Roy
