Very nice rabbiting man I also use 10z at 4"mesh but rigged up permi on two hazel pegs...works beautifully.

Same happened to me a few year ago, I was given permission from our local junior school to shoot the rabbits with airgun . not 10 minutes into action I had a copper chopper hovering overhead ready to land on the fecking field. so ups I get and walks over to the caretakers bungalow only to be stopped by two armed police and a very embarrassed caretaker...who said "sorry pal I forgot to let them know"... ..a resident had phoned them saying shed seen a masked man with a big gun !

Cmon guys aint there no-one got any questions for pete ?.. Another for you pete, im a long netter/netsman and we use different types of twine and mesh sizes for different situations/species does this also apply to mist netting or any other style of net to catch birds for ringing ?. -
The worst ones for me are those that ask advice ...they then read your reply and never acknowledge you.

Another question pete, do you get allocated a certain amount of rings per year ? do you have to pay for the rings or does the bto pay ?. -

Difficult one....personally id have stuck it up in a bush/tree as high as I could, on saying that i did the same with I linnet chick but the bugger kept jumping to the ground so I left him to his own devises.

I wonder just how many nets there are around the country just lying around? Mr Goodcat Far too many...imo most people buy them with good intentions but lack the knowledge/skill to use them. if were all honest we messed up and got it wrong in the beginning but perseverance pays..i must admit I was very privileged to have been taught by( imo) one of the countrys top longnetters/netsman, and owe him a great deal of gratitude.
