    There are lots of threads on 'How to' if you use the search facility. The main areas to concentrate on are how to find the tunnels and how to set a trap without disturbing the more run too much. As for traps you need to let us know how big the area is that you will be treating and whether you are intending to do any other trapping other than this one job. You will have to keep going back to trap the moles that re-populate the areas that you clear. If you are just looking at one job and the problem area is around one acre or less then three or four traps would do you. For that purpose

    I get A Fenn traps from fourteen acer, spot on little trap. Check out ebay some decent traps there aswell.

    There might be one or two other lads doing the same thing on the same permission, another thing to remember is your not the only thing hunting rats at night. Cat's Owel's & Old Red are all after a meal, & rats in farm's must be the same as nipping to the nearest takeaway for a hungrey preditor...unfortunatley for them.... without salt and vinigar or garlic mayo or even curry sauce However a tastey bit of scoff for animal trying to survive winter.     Hi folks, I have a Silver Ferret that I bought last season as a pet..maybe to do a bit of ferreting with one day aswell.     Well looks like after all these years I'll have to pack the game In, as Im Not as Perfect a shooter as some of you, and no matter how hard I try somtimes things dont go as according to plan, I get the odd casualty every now and then and im NOT affraid to addmit it..Unlike some.     I second that.. I use a lamp with red filter and 9 times out of 10 the rats on the move seconds after putting the light on it...if i have to I take the moving target I aim between the head and chest. If it stays still I go for the eye or between the eyes as there lit up and easy to see. I shot 15 this evening and less than half of them stayed still long enough for me to deside where I was going to stick the pellet, 177 using Bisly Magnums...However there brown bread now..just the way i like them.     I couldnt get my rile any more accurate than it already is with the pellets i use, I use H&N FT for long range and Bisly Magnums at close range for hard hitting and there excellent between 15y out to 45y. Both work exceptionally well for what I use them for. Marty.

    Yes you could say that lol, I went out again last evening & manged 14. I can safley say that a few tasted lead last evening.I enjoy ratting but cant stand the things near me..If there any closer to me than 15 yards i get nervouse..VERY NERVOUSE. There was a few moments lastnight where i thought the old ticker was about to pack up on me, Hair raising to say the least. Does any one else have these moments, or am I the only pussy on here when it come to these horrible little critters Cheers again chaps.

    Hi chaps, well 2 months out of the game due to surgery and lastnight i took out the HW100 .177ks tooled up with its tactical light and blue filter and managed 7 rats and a rabbit from one of my permissions. Went out again this evening and shot another 7 rats. Got to say, Iv missed it a tad to say the least. You cant beat a cold fresh breezy walk around an old farm with the air rifle, then coming home smelling of farm shit... Loved every minute of it. Atb Marty

    I was just woundering what it must feel like for a dog living in the 21st Centuary Living a life in the spot light with the wounders of the www. It must be hard living upto high expectation's with All these Fancy Blood lines and Celebrity name's.
