  1. Yeah they do call it a rat catcher for a reason :-) My lad shoots that exact gun and had big issues with hitting targets accurately and consistently using just 4 mag! It was only when I got 3-9x40 scope he managed to hit bulleyes at 25yards consistently, it was far to random and difficult before due to the lack of visibility. They are a nice gun though, I customised the stock to suit the lads 11year olds shoulders. The weight of the gun is also very good for those long stints in the field shooting rabbits at 10- 25yrds effectively. Not that I've done that! But I've had th
  2. I assumed it was on the low side for a ratty , but Im new to this stuff. I have considered keeping it to modify at a later date, Ive seen some interesting things done to them and I like the way they come apart so easily. But I have to justify the new gun to the wife. So selling the old one to pay towards the new one gets that done, and a springer at close to the legal limit with a scope will bring me a step closer to the goal of rabbiting. Im joining a club tomorrow so I can start practising to make sure I can get good clea head shots before I go out and get some permissions. Joinin
  3. .243! As I'm sure your aware the velocity of your rounds travel far exceed the .22 @14.3 grain pellet traveling around 580 fps the ratty could potentially reach? The 10x mag purely allows the shooter to see what they have hit such as a paper card at 25yards! 4x 40 does not allow the shooter with this weapon a good of a view of the target! If it's a deer or other large animal, then as you know the falling over of the hit target would indicate a hit.
  4. The 2250b is a good starter gun for youngsters these days, as my lad can attest to. The silencer will certainly help the sale although the 4x40 scope isn't much help to the weapon as it does require a minimum of 10x mag to shoot effectively (field targets). If as you say it's a "bit of rust" then I would think around £60 secondhand. I payed £140 brand new for the lads three months ago. Chris
  5. Sign me up! Mate I would climb over my mother for a permission :-) Free! It's a pleasure, we do it for the love of our craft. It's not everybody that can dispatch vermin with such precision. Chris
  6. Phantom (above) shoots the S200 in .22 to good effect.
  7. Just after Christmas I'm planning on a new gun, the S200 in .177 is deffinetly on the list.
  8. It's beech stock also makes it quite light in .22
  9. Just seen your further comment "blue lines" aka blue screen of death! If your not savy in computers then it is best to get it to the repair shop! Ps Take your wallet :-( Chris
  10. By "scrolling" I'm assuming your using a browser? IE, Chrome, Firefox ect. It could be that you have inadvertanly removed something, a reinstall of the affected browser could solve the issue. Also an update of Java and flash could help. Chris
  11. It's a case different courses for different horses mate! Crosman's premiere ultra mags work very well in my S300 and a fellow shooters S200, and as you are discovering there are significant differences in pellet performance dependant upon the weapon used to fire them. Despite the performance of my chose pellet i'am currently looking for a pellet which will give me even greater performance! A possible candidate could be the H&N field and Target trophy trialed by Si Pittaway in his latest YouTube vid! A video Incidently, demonstrated exactly the differing performance of some to
  12. No need to be sorry Tony, we all have off days :-) The only photo I wanted to take that day was of the position I had taken up lying in wait for roger :-p There'll be other days mate Chris
  13. Just recently I undertook that task of hand crafting my own S300 stock, the stock turned out very well and on the whole I was quite pleased with the constructive criticism received from my fellow shooters. Having received my first order for a Ww72 custom stock for another S300, I began pondering the idea of a "bullpup" stock as an alternative to the standard rifle stock I have already, it was at this point I heard that there is a LEGAL length an air rifle has to be! My question is quite an obvious one! What are the Legalities involved with Rifle lengths? better still where ca
  14. Nice write up bud, a good day. I do think you could of expressed more the agony of ants in my underware though mate :-) Chris
  15. I've met you Wurz, your gun doesn't need anymore character! Your more than enough character for both of you. :-)
  16. Korust is ok for inside the those areas, you can get it from automotive stores. Looks milky when applied but it stabilises the rust and turns it black when dry. Or like above, buy new! cheaper in the long run.
  17. They are lovely pix Roger, couldn't help myself :-)
