  1. Filling it totally with foam and drilling a hole may not work to well on thinking about it! A lot of air passes through it at great speed! Remember your slowing the air down to lessen the crack, so creating air voids to dissipated the air rather than absorbing the noise may work better. I know a few silecers that have "chambers" separated by washers, the spacing of these chambers seems to vary a bit.
  2. There are many schools of thought regarding the world of silencers it seems Barry. I've seen hair curlers and panscrubs used to great effect, washers and spacers, double foamed haircurler combinations and my badly drilled washers and 5mm ring spacers, which isn't to bad really. There are some lovely engineered ones from uk Neil which comes with a lot of recommendations! Drilling your own doesn't sound far fetched to me :-) but I'm no expert.. Weihrauch have a great review also.
  3. You probably saved him the hassle pete
  4. Phantom has the same rifle, I believe he uses crossman ultra magnums might be wrong, he's the guy to talk to though. I have the s300 and use RWS super fields or crossman ultra mags, both work very well.

  14. Even though we blanked, it was a good night, I learnt a fair bit and also was able to do some onsite research into what a particular range (distance) looks like. I know in my years as a fresh water angler, you don't always get the fish but it's good to try.
  15. Nice day field shooting with the guys n gals of Hull & District Club.

  16. That's probably right, if the stain is in the wood itself then it would very difficult but not impossible to sort, the voice of experience! It's kind of odd that the gunsmith or company allowed such an obvious flaw to get to the shelf? Or did they think it was a nice "feature"! Im glad you got sorted anyways Chris
  17. I used some crossman's myself last evening (ultra magnums) 14.3g, they flew very well, money well spent.
  18. It was an enlightening evening, to see the damage the carrot crunchers were doing first hand was certainly a mind changer. I had previously had some reservations regarding the taking of rabbits, but after seeing people's lost loved ones head stones leaning over to a dangerous level as a direct result of the rabbits (vermin) certainly cleared out mixed feelings. Hopefully in time I can gain the confidence in my "equipment" to take those long distance shots without causing unnecessary suffering to the trouble causers. The instruction you gave phantom helped greatly and also made me r
  19. It does look like water ingress, was it a custom stock? If they haven't seasoned the wood correctly, bearing in mind it takes years, that could account for the discolouration.
  20. Wow now that's a blast from the past! I had one 25 years ago loads of fun, Christ 25 years!! Feeling old...
