whats a second hand s400 with scope worth?
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to riflehunter583's topic in General Airgun Discussion
if i remember correctly there was a gun only s400 in kirklees guns for 300. that might be a bit steep tho for 2nd hand.. i couldnt say.. better wait for someone whos had more experience with the s400 -
Well iv just sat here listening to the shots in this video skipping to them. the pellet hits the 35 yard metal target so fast that it almost makes one noise. however after carefull analysis (lmao) you can hear that on the second shot the muzzle blast is actually significantly quieter. at least it sounds to be when i listen to it again and again on my phone. Im still saying it wont make a world of difference, but i suppose you could take onboard tescos way of thinking 'Every little helps' pmsl haha !!!

aye, tackle shops are really miserable.. just want you in and out as fast as they can get your money off you lol sounds like a top shop id do the same and give them my custom after they were so helpful -
i got the lightning xl and was going to stick to it but i sold it to get the 97. then i wanted the 95 as an alternative / plinker and i want a pcp hw100 so i have best of both worlds and if i get more serious permissions with a lot more vermin, i agree with the fishing stuff i go (mainly carp) every now and again .. but match gear is a constant replace buy more type situation and i bet you could spend a hell of a lot on maggots pellets etc.. once you got the carp gear all u need is to top up hooks line and bait lol and my mountain bike was 80quid my mate paid 800 for one lol

Skot Ruthless Teale replied to milegajo's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
i kinda know what you mean si.. and holding your crosshair perfectly still at say 60m when your trying to see how low your pellets have impacted to see which mildot you need to use isnt easy!! even if u rested the rifle on a bag or bipod.. lol -

Mapping Pellet Trajectory

yep chairgun is another shortcut in this lazy society -
that new bsa lightning xl.grt (gas ram technology) would probably be your best choice. i think they also doing the standard/older style lightning grt aswell. already fitted with silencer. bsa barrels are highly rated aswell.. light as a feather aswell with a small/medium lightweight scope you should have a nice accurate quiet low recoil rifle. just another thought
-
Lightweight springers then lads lets get some suggestions. Bsa lightning / xl + supersport weihrauch hw95 k. its a bit heavier but not much and its a lot better quality weihrauch hw 99 s very nice little rifle. Dont know any others lol.. of decent quality.. You dont want any SMK crap lol ( come on milegajo )
-
Well it seems your dilemma has turned out as one option, if your not willing to pump a pcp your going to need a springer and put up with the weight (as falcongit says it helps with recoil) hw 97 kt is a great choice. heavy but you could always fit a sling.. and what % of HUNTING shots are taken standing? Really.. i always try to kneel or rest my shots where possible. Although yesterday i took a standing shot at 8 yards at a grey squirrel i was confident with my hw 95 k which is a little lighter than the hw 97 kt. i didnt have time to kneel or i wouldnt have got a shot and it would have go

I was sat roost shooting crows in autumn a few years ago and there wer no leaves on the trees and it got properly dark and all i could see was silhouettes of crows and pigeons. i was putting the gun away and getting ready to go home and on a bare tree against the skyline there was a squirrel running around. i only thought they came out through the day aswel but obviously not! Nice bit of kit that nightvision job..well done daz atb
