  1. Is the stock handed or ambi? I am in the market for a 410 but would need it posted, don't know if a fill bottle can be sent by post?
  2. Interesting debate here on the ins & outs of 12ftlb + rifles if you have not already read it, nearly 2000 views so you all probabally have! http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/237976-legal-to-own-cpc-that-has-potential-over-12psi/
  3. Davy, excelent review of the s410 on your link thanks. The s410 seems to be the favorite at the moment. I am allways keen to maintain all my tools myself and happy to take them apart and repair/ replace bits as needed. It sounds like it is fairly easy with this rifle so thats a definte selling point for me. Guess i will be keeping my eye open for one on the sales section here. Thanks to all for the advice, keep it coming. Anthing else to rival the s410 and the BSA ultra?
  4. Hunting rabbits firstly then with the odd bit of plinking. Would prefer .22 as my springer is a hw35 in .22 so already have a good asortment of pellets.
  5. What do you recon the best value for money PCP is? I would like a HW100 or a rapid but even second hand they are out of my price range. Unless of corse anyone has one cosmetically not great but works ok and wants to sell it cheap. Failing that what multi shot do you recon offers the best value for money for the quality you get? As with all things in life i realise you get what you pay for but often times you can pay for a name too when another brand is nearly as good but costs a lot less.
  6. Looking for a rapid 7 preferably one that cosmetically isn't great but works ok. Looking to keep the price down and fancy a bit of a restoration project, maby make a custom stock so anything considered. Need posted though unless in the north of Scotland. PM me what you have. Thanks
  7. verry interested but would need it posted as live in scotland. Is the stock Ambi or handed? Do you have a pump for it? Thanks
  8. Looking for a cheap pcp. Not a clue what it's worth. How much you after for it? Cheers
  9. Check out this other thread http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/245173-gas-bottle-stove/
  10. If the tang is long enough you can put it right through the handle and use the projecting few milimeters to rivit on an end cap. A piece of brass works well, esy to file/ sand to shape and can be cut from an old door hinge or other piece of scrap. I have made end caps with old coins, a Canadian bever, an American eagle or a silver sixpence make an intresting and unique end to a handle.
  11. I jut blow a hole through with a plasma cutter but appreciate not everyone has acess to one. If is the handle then heat it red hot and let it cool. Drill it slow in a drill press and lube with oil. This can eisily be done whit standard HSS bits now it has been anealed. If you heat up the blade area as already said it will need heat treated again.
  12. I would agree you can't be too carefull. I made one of these a year or so back out of a realy old grey tank . Removed the valve, left the hoze running through it a while then to be sure washed it out with hot saopy watter. I filled it 3/4 full with water before i started cutting out the door with a plasma cutter and it still went with a thump an water sprayed out the valve hole. Didn't burst the tank but left me pretty shook up. Once i had a steady hand again i finished the the cutting and welding without further incident and the finished article is a cracking little stove that my kids use
  13. Bargain for someone. Any of the above?
  14. if you would do it posted for that i would take it.

  16. Indeed it was Davy, but i was looking for hard evidence, first hand experiences etc, which came on the following pages. It seems to be a grey area and open for interpritation of the local fire arms depo in your own area, judging by the other comments and experiences in the thread. Also with the views to this thread standig at 1384 last i looked, often with 2 or 3 guests reading it, who i assume have picked up the thread on an internet search engine looking for an answer to the same question. I think it was a worthwhile dscussion to have even though we have come full circle, i hope it will
  17. Right, i have phoned the local station and apparently we don't have a fire arms officer locally but are coverd by Inverness depo which is 125 miles away. I rang them and as many of you said they would be, they were very helpfull. I was told that as long as the gun was neve redgistered as a class 1 firearm and it was kept under 12ftlbs then it was fine to own despite any potential it may have. I asked him about blanking the adjuster off and was told it was not a requirement but it was the responsibility of the owner to keep it under 12ftlbs, if caught with it over then you can get charged.
  18. I have the chance of a realy good deal on a Theoben Rapid 7 PCP air rifle. I don't know the history but the current owner dosn't have it on a FAC. I intend to keep it sub 12lbs so in theory wouldn't need a FAC but have been told if it has ever been FAC redgistered in the past then i can't legally own it without a FAC. Can i check the serial number anywhere to see if it has ever been FAC redgistered?
  19. Photo's here of knife i made from landrover spring. http://www.flickr.com/photos/seb1000/6887683605/in/set-72157629347376755/ I tried putting the photo's on this page but it seems beyond my technical ability any tips greatefully recieved.
  20. Not redgistered as a FAC air rifle at the moment by the current owner but i don't know it's histry from new. What if it has been redgisterd as such in the past? Is there any way of checking? hi "IF" it has been registered in the past, then it still is!! once its registered it can not be de-registered,it stays F.A.C till it goes to the scrap heap! but chances are its under 12ft/lb,if the previous owner is telling the truth? Davy How can i tell if it has been registered in the past? Is there anywhere on the internet i can enter the serial number to check? I assume the police c
