Mines just a small kennel that's constantly open during the day and locked at night. Had to be split down the middle when the bitch was a pup cos she kept trying to get into bed with the dog... It's not the best but it does the job, had to be made to fit in that corner really so did the best we could. Ruby enjoying the banter! -

I knew a bloke who aimed a spirit level out the window at a mate when he was pissed and had the local ARV turn up within the next 10 minutes! Hahaha class this. Sums up the coppers, turn up in force when someone's aiming something trivial but when the real deal kicks off nowhere to be seen.

If someone popped out and shot one of mine he wouldn't last the week. Then the police would have something to do. Depends on the circumstances, if he came out and shot without any reason then that's a one way ticket to a toaster in the bath. If my dog was out of control attacking him or his dog and/or chasing stock then it's the done thing unfortunately and i'd only have myself to blame. Shame he lost the dog but i bet there's more to this, the police wouldn't back away from a firearms incident after the Horden shootings, Raoul Moat, etc etc. and the increasing public pressure on it.

From my experience the dog is a little shit when it comes to bringing them back. They both hunt and flush very well but on the retrieve the bitch is brilliant. She's been out a few times (only being 10 months old..) she's got a good engine and runs all day. I'd recommend a bitch but that's just from my own experience and talking to other guns when out and about. They'll retrieve anything though, foxes, rabbits, pheasants etc, all fair game. Just a bit headstrong sometimes. Mine have a lot of FTCH in their history but run into the rough like there's no tomorrow, i think you've got to get th

My thoughts too. That amount of rats deserves a number of high quality ratting dogs. If the Staff had a rat but then saw another it wouldn't dispatch the first..not ideal.

Alright lads, Looking for some land in the Hartlepool area just to work my dogs on. No guns or ferrets, just two Springers and myself to continue their development. I do have a 12 bore and an air rifle if the land owner needed any rabbits etc sorted out. Cheers!

Tough one this. As said above he'll more than likely chew the kennel, but if you leave the run open and give him the run of the garden you'll probably end up with digging/chewing and possibly barking. Ideally in my opinion with Springers being as intelligent as they are, 2 hours a day walking, training a couple of hours or so a week and 3/4 hours of 'company' per day too. They need a lot of stimulation. Plenty of toys, a 'Kong' thing to keep him entertained and afford as much time as you can. At the moment i don't think it's feasable you keeping him but that's just my opinion. Hope

Yes this may be sensationalism at it's best, but it's f*****g right. Muslims are arrogant, rude and constantly angry, thinking that the world owes them a favour. I can't think of a time that i have ever conversed with a Muslim who hasn't got a chip on their shoulder. I worked in a call centre for a while, customers hailing from the Middle East living here were the worst. Shouty arrogant b*****ds that would spit on you in the street. Yes there is The Asda delivery man has just told me it is weird out there today. He said deep snow right up to the last village (LF) on the way to mine, then suddenly no snow after it and thick fog instead....like there is a cut off line Whereabouts? I rabbit with my Springers out the back of my house, the older dog marks and flushes and my bitch chases them down. She's unbelievably fast and agile, i only get 2 or 3 flushes every couple of weeks but she gets them all. For a ten month old Springer i'm extremely proud of her. The first time she saw a rabbit she couldn't make up her mind what to do so just went for it, toyed with it then brought it back to me alive. The older dog dispatched it. From them on she's done it herself.
