Some one could do well there with a good burger van selling good bacon and eggs burgers cooked well. Nice crispy bacon for example and decent rolls with butter and proper brown sauce oh and at a reasonable price

Lots of ups and downs on the plot but the ups out weigh the downs. Nice strawberries and cream today was hoping to get some jam done but I can't see them making it that far Garlic bulbs drying nicely saving this bunch for seed -

Well looks like I will be buying onions this winter. My first bed that over wintered I noticed the tops get shorter so I threw some bird netting over and left them to it. Closer look today and 3/4 are now topless so to speak also my other bed planted this year which included shallots has had it too. Now the tops are gone I guess I may as well pull them and eat what I can I can't see them recovering. My mate on the other hand who is less than 30 yards away has a lush bed of onions with not a blemish on them. I am putting it down to my plot being neglected for years and pests have built up so -
This line really rings true The intense concentration is palpable, your not even breathing fully. I often find my self holding my breath with out thinking as I actually try and tip toe into position must look like the pink panther

Well I pulled my garlic today some quite nice bulbs. Few small ones so bought them home and few whoppers so they have gone in the for seed section. All spread out on a wire rack in the shed smelling nice Would liked to have given a few more weeks but they started to get rust and I didn't want that getting across onto the onion beds as they will be around for a month or two yet -

Funny you should say that I have sowed numerous lots of carrots going back upto 5 weeks and yet to see one emerge. The last few rows I covered in compost in case it was a crust blocking them but I am not hopeful. My neighbour then just slung a row in and has nice little inch high tops in no time at all. he used the same variety as me too. Very puzzling going to buy a new packet of seed tomorrow get some good old sutton seeds Very frustrating as we eat lots so wanted a good few for the winter but at this rate we will be buying them -

Got the beans iin place today left 3 behind in the back yard for seed Plenty of root in the toilet rolls I would have planted direct but I was waiting for space. Been eating cabbage like an idiot to free up room sweet corn planted out too netted the onions because some thing has been taking the tops off and in places whole onions have gone. I suspect the old corvids maybe. The slugs enjoy my lettuce too -
dexter wedge worked well for me
