Morning fellers, yesterday one of my daughters called with a new Norton 360 security disc! FFS!started to download it then it took over 3 hours to put it on, since then it has taken minutes for every command to be carried out, I switched this PC on at 5.25 this morning and it has taken untill now-6-53 am to get rid of the Norton program. it still says it can not restore to a earlier time. and I find it impossible to remove AVG which I put on yesterday hoping it would solve the problems. as I said in my first post I am a real numpty on a PC so I will take it in this morning for repair. I have just come back on after trying twice more to restore to two different restore days, IE the first and the seventh of August. Each time it has gone through its sytem I E blue lines then shutting down then comes back on then states "Unable to restore" Hrrm, I think I will take it in tomorow to Midland Computers, their repair charges by the way are £60.00 per hour! Deep gloom again, Thanks guys.

Yes I tried to undo my mistake this morning I fetched up System restore picked a previous date marked in heavy type and it said it was unable to do so!. as for the B***Y AVG removal its still chuntering on even though I managed to get it as far as uninstall its now been running for over half an hour and its still not gone away. I will try system restore once more, Thanks everyone.

Thanks for that ghillies, Tried the scandisc and it came up asking £29.95 for cover on up to 10 PC,s?? Jeeze Ive only got one! Downloaded AVG and it now has slowed down to a crawl, Methinks I will have to take it in for it to be put right, Ive tried to remove AVG but its refusing to budge.I am not savvy enough to follow the different instructions on how to take it off!. Thanks again.

After removing several programs on my PC it now when switching on allthough full page shows all the words very tiny, the bottom right corner states -100% but the words are not. I have gone into "view" and even "page" and increased word size but it dosent hold the new size when changing to other forums I read, also when scrolling down the page it now behaves very notchy ie almost jerky. I am, I confess a old numpty on a pc hence the vast amount of dosh I have had to lay out on several ocasions having it put right by a local repair centre, I have also tried to reset it to a earlier day before

Not allways easy to repair such a leak on a Sharp Innova, On that model the valve isnt a knock open type instead it is released by the trigger pulling down a plate that holds in the exhaust valve, over time and many many shots the plate aquires a indent which causes such a leak, you may be lucky and find it is something more easilly repaired, Tony Wall at Sandwell is a Innova collecter and is conversant with the workings of these rifles and is well quallified to repair them. If he cant help then PM me and if you pay for the postage both ways I will repair it for nowt as long as I can replace

Yes all police officers are spotless in their behaviour!, Remember the poor newspaper seller killed by a riot police thug who attacked him and the poor fellow died shortly after!. How about the Armed responce officers who have shot several unarmed people "Because they might have been carrying guns?? " one of them a three year old hiding in the bedcovers! Well said Miles I stand in awe at your knowledge and beliefs. It takes me back a few months ago when I had cause to ask for specialised legal advice for the problem of which I wont reveal on here, but you my friend are privy to. I was gutted to be asked by the solicitor who is a expert on firearms cases for the sum of £600.! just for preparing and supplying a letter on my behalf!! This is no lie. My memory is pretty bad nowadays but I remember the Trailsman and the other Alros models the ones I came across didnt have any major faults and were worth owning, Made in the Stoke On Trent area they were a well made gun, easy to strip / repair. I think their downfall was not to fit the more eye pleasing stocks that were introduced at that time by other popular gunmakers. If the price and condition is good then its a good buy. remember though the air cylinder on such a gun MIGHT be suffering from internal corrosion!. Phew, Lets be frank here, all police officers dont follow the rules, there are bad ones strutting their stuff, blatently lying and causing big trouble for law abinding citizens. my own experience lately made me dissapointed that presumably honest? officers close ranks and refuse to listen to such complaints from agreived members of the public. I believe from my own experience its better to say nowt and keep your head down because your wasting your time complaining all it does is make you a marked man and you will start getting unwanted pressure for daring to complain.

Got to agree with the wise replies to the poster who asked for advice ignored it, bought a incomplete set up, then asks for help to source spares, askes about parts to tune it up? presumably to take it to FAC levels? then takes offence at the friendly banter in some of the replies!! finishes up telling us to F off, Might be the groundowner is laying down conditions about his equipment as a kind way of saying he dont want him on his land really and hopes he cant get a better gun than his Chinese CO2 rifle! as it happens it could be argued his new gun is worse than his old one!! :laugh:

I am amazed that someone has advertised (NOT ON HERE) the sale of a springer fitted with a USA tuning kit that is knocking out 19.7 FPE. he states in his ad that the rifle can be purchased with or without the kit no mention of the buyer needing a section one certificate, even says he will fit fit the standard set up and supply the gun with the tuning kit to fit it yourself!! he even states he is a gunsmith!! that bit cant be true, as a registered gunsmith would know he would be having his collar felt by the old bill and a trip to the slammer would follow.! more stupidity to encourage our mast

Chris, you can get more accuracy by lessening the spring length but make sure you use a grindstone to square off the spring face after cutting, it allways helps to fit thin section steel or delrin washers to lessen the torque effect imparted by the spring release on firing, obviously you must take into account the extra length involved by fitting such washers before chopping the spring.

My mate at Hull was telling me that they had a few HW springer barrels that was over choked which caused recoil and accuracy problems that were only resolved by the gunsmiths having to ease out the problem ones. as I stated before most if not all German airgun makers used to advertise the advantage of choking for accuracy with their products. Hrmm, lets think about what happens when you put your thumb over the end of a garden hose! depending on the amount of restriction Erh Choke! you can get a more accurate jet down range! I rest my

Hiya Bribri988. Not all chinese made airweapons are junk, take a look at the Beretta designed Stoeger X20 Suppresser. For £160 it comes complete with a cracking 3X9X40 PA scope and dedicated mounts, I purchased one just to have a plinking rifle really and I was supprised on stripping it down to find it was extremely well made, the piston, unlike the early BSA meteor is machined from a solid billet of steel, and the barrel pivot is a proper bolt with screw adjustment, not a simple solid pin like the Meteor. Sorry Andy, I cant find the HW barrel offcuts so I phoned a mate in the technical section at Hull cartridge, He confirmed that all HW barrels have been choked since The HW Model 35 and extra models was introduced! Ime all choked up again!! :yes:

Hrmm, In the 1980,s I was involved in a well known Airgun World writers venture of supplying HW modified Air rifles that had their actions polished and the barrels chopped and alloy moderators shrunk on. they were very popular and none ever came back with any kind of problem. As I was the one who did the work I remember I had a box of the barrel ends that were removed, since that time they have disapeared somewere in the depths of my workshop, If I remember correctly the German Air rifle makers used to put empathis on their advertisements of their barrels being choked for more accu
