farmer once told me after i knocked his door for permission that a few guys had ferreted his open burys the day before an after they had lifted there nets he wandered over to see how they had done, he said they showed him 3 bunnys an said they was comin back next week, he said they all walked across the field an 1 guy said he had left his knife, as he started walking back 2 bunnys come oot an hole they had just lifted a net off, i assured the farmer i had a hob that would not leave anything alive in his warrens aslong as i could dig, then i assured him i would backfill all holes, i went back n

is it just me that finds it wierd that all the blanks are selling yet not the finished knifes?? i understand the blanks are cheaper, but lets be honest, i now for a fact i couldnt get that sort of finish even just putting a handle on a blank, never mind the sheath aswell... just to add, my wee knife is still doing its job very well -
i got a couple a kitts a good few years ago an the guy said they had been reared on ferret biscuits, an they wouldnt touch flesh for love nor money, i started asking around an it seems its quite common for ferrets fed on kibble to turn there noses up to meat, i did starve the 2 jills i had for a day an they soon started eating flesh, so all was good

when we was kids an ferreted the parks, we just used small jills an waited, wouldnae a liked to think what woulda happend if we went home withoot the ferret, if ye aint got a locator, ye best have patience...

hi, im sure your sick a hearing im sorry for your loss, but i dont know what else to say but sorry for your loss, i never met craigy personally but he went out his way to help me a few times regarding the wee birds, an i found him to be nowt but a gent, i know i an others on here will really miss his input to the site, the serious stuff an the funny stuff, he helped a lot more than me on here an i just wanna say if there is ever anything you or your family need, im sure there would be a cue of folk on here willing to help you, i know i would. all the very best to you an yours, my thoughts

Its a preset net mate running out of a basket, you have to put some sort of band or grommet over the half hitch to hold it in place because there will be no tension on the top and bottom lines when nets loaded in basket so they will come undone, i agree about keeping tension when running out and more so in a traditional web Cheers Atb never read it properluy, i thought he had used a preset an was now trying a trad sorry to the op for the wrong advise, should read things properly next time

why use innertube pal the half hitch an full hitch should work fine, an are ye keeping tension on the lines whilst running out??
