  3. WORK THEM HARD TREAT THEM LIKE HEROES BY D HARCOMBE great read, like new £30 with postage.
  4. bought one mate, baiting up now
  5. Some lad has taught one to be a search and rescue dog before, thats pretty clever to me.
  6. What are all these videos of 'the dealer' about anyway. Its a dog, not a miracle. Seeking fame if your plastering your own dogs name all over the place.
  7. but it depends on your standards. I wouldnt buy a dog off any old parents and say theyre working stock. Give yourself a bigger percentage with better parents.
  8. Id say more than 10% will run well and strike when needed, given appropriate introduction. Most comes down to how much game theyve seen
  9. No point having good feet if it cant use em. Attributes are useless without others. A dog that can turn and keep close.
  10. We had a bitch that was great will young pups and dogs. Anyways we put her down to some cubs to break through, she was licking the cubs and treating em like her own. She was no good
  11. for some reason i cannot post a topic in the trapping section. anyway, can anyone recommend a decent fox trap manufacturer or model, would be decent on some permission i have. im willing to spend round about 150. cheers.

  13. Fox are timid and will bolt if they can. But a fox that has been in a dig will more likely sit.
  14. I wouldnt run a hare over a hill because you cant see the run. And if your dog kills it, what a waste.
  15. would you risk it? like i said, i have walked up to it and 4 white plastic sticks where stuck into the ground surrounding the earth. why's that? i wouldnt rule anything out, you know what the rspca are capable of. not far from it theres a wood full of camaras, but the area has signs.
  16. Maybe so but without good breeding behind the dogs in the 1st place you wound not have the good dogs to talk about.Any man can put a dog across a bitch and produce a worker or 2 but to do it consistently each time you breed and to keep the same line of dogs goin takes a bit of know how would you not agree. yes but i would say the working terrier wasnt a product of known 'terriermen' and their lines. but unknown lads who bred worker to worker. well bred bitch to well bred dog gives a high chance of good offspring, even if they are different lines. and i would say a higher percentage of dog
  17. ye ino a lad thats took one out before and played it.
  18. does seem a bit dodgy, but years ago it was a great place that held.
  19. cant mess with a so called sett though. i turned up to it one day and it had 4 white sticks stood up in the ground around it?
  20. who gives a flying f**k about a name... means nothing if it doesnt end up working. and if it does work, well so do dogs without that name. round me, names of men aint mentioned, but names of good dogs.
  21. was thinking about giving it a good wack and watching.
  22. ok, theirs 2 decent 'earths' near my permission, but the farmer of my permission says rspca visit it quite a lot. he says they have fitted some sort of sensor mechanism when the earth is hit with an impact like a spade, it triggers an alarm. i've heard of them from other people too. anyone else? its a cracking spot
