  1. You in Ireland? I was talking to my Friend in Wexford last night and he said they are getting some good hunting in this year. Hares everywhere.
  2. Haha shit you're right. 1/2 it was. Typing error Thanks everyone. I should be heading out again tonight if the fog clears.
  3. Cheers! And most definitely! Thanks, could they be from the same litter? I got her around Nottingham area.
  4. It's been a slow start for me. Moving all around Europe has left me with very few contacts in the UK. This proved to make finding some good permission the impossible task. I found that everything is tied up and farmers are reluctant to give out new permission in fear of upsetting the guys working the land. I was in Ireland for 4 years where I hunted day and night. Then I moved to Spain and my dog struggled to adjust to the climate and steep mountains. I caught 1 Jack rabbit in the 4 years of living in Spain. I moved back to the UK a couple of years ago and finally got a new Lurcher last ye
  5. That surprised me! Made a tidy enough looking dog.
  6. Yes mate I take a blind dog lamping......
  7. Shit. I thought it would be a lot less hot than this. The place I regularly walk is actually only a small area. I have bumped into the owner now and again and know he doesn't mind people walking it, day or night. But I will get it confirmed with him in case of a situation like the above ^ It's driving me crazy not being able to get out with the dog legally. I was out of the UK for 8 years and permission in Spain and Ireland is never a problem. If there are any friendly and generous people out there ( ) with some permission that fancy helping out a lone hunter shoot me a pm. I drive

  11. Yeah I just searched and this topic has been done before. Some bullshit about going out equipped. Walking at night kind of requires a light source... so that law is bullshit in my opinion. Just because it's a Lurcher. I bet if I was walking a newfoundland at night I wouldn't get any bother. Well I will have to make sure I don't get anything jumping in front of me and dog then ... And better get knocking on some more doors... which is proving to be more and more bloody difficult to get a yes.
  12. There are a lot of public footpaths around my area. Most of them go on for miles and stretch through fields. The law states that public footpaths are open any time of the day or night for use. So walking a public footpath with a dog... and a torch/ lamp at night isn't illegal... It got me thinking the other night. Now the days are shorter it's becoming necessary to walk the dog at night. I always take her behind my house into the fields along the public footpath... But the other night I came across a guy shooting. I asked where he was heading and we had a quick chat and went our sepa
  13. I been at it for a few years. Used to stick to pike until I bought a load of good carp gear off a friend for cheap. Got hooked ever since. Nice to relax by the lake with a cold beer.
  14. May as well get them the entire kit then aye.
  15. Is this the one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1800-Lumen-Zoomable-CREE-XM-L-T6-LED-18650-Flashlight-Torch-Light-18650-Charger-/290779944581?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Camping_LightsLanternsTorches&hash=item43b3d5d685 I'm about to order one. What they like? Sounds like the beam isn't very tight....
  16. This is my young bitch. You probably seen her on here before. Not a lot of hunting yet due to lack of permission Still have high hopes for her. She's showing well. Still no kill though....
  17. You're not going to get a mutual agreement mate. Everyone has their preferences. Any dog bred for the job will be good if you bring it on right. Have a look what breeds you like and then go from there.
  18. Yeah I'm very close to ordering one but want to make sure I get the right one. I'm looking at this one. Looks CHEAP. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1800-Lumen-Zoomable-CREE-XM-L-T6-LED-18650-Flashlight-Torch-Light-18650-Charger-/290779944581?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Camping_LightsLanternsTorches&hash=item43b3d5d685
  19. I presume most people on here are aware of geotagging? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geotagging In simple terms, it basically means that with today's modern phones and cameras there is a setting ( which is often automatically switched on) that puts a code into your image/ picture with the latitude and longitude coordinates. This means that with a simple right click of the picture( even if it has been uploaded on an image hosting site) people can find the exact location the picture was taken. Just a heads up for people posting pictures that could be 'misinterpreted'. Make sure your Geota

  21. If you have ever handled even domestic pigs you will know how powerful and awkward to deal with. Even our sows who weigh in at around 60kg have sent me flying when I have had to grapple them for treatment purposes, and i weigh in at not shy of 18 stone. So even a 10 stone plus mastif will go flying when its trying to grip a boar thats fighting to survive. Yeah I know a bit about domestic pigs... ( Taken just now ) There's a boar in there at the moment with the 4 sows. Having the time of his life And he's a pic for comedy value.
  22. My intentions were not to start an argument. I'm genuinely interested. I base my knowledge on few days out with the Spanish using Spanish Bulldogs. I'm far from an expert. They use the dogs to catch, fight and eventually pin down the boar. Once the energy levels arte enough someone would then run in with a small knife and pop it under the throat. Job done. I have seen the power of these animals and when they are throwing mastif like dogs around like rag dolls and putting wounds that would kill a dog unless stitched up there and then. This is why I think we got our wires crossed. I tho
