  6. Josy , nice stamp of dogs you keep. If you dont mind me asking what they like in the wind department if they have been crossed out to a half bull are they still good to run all night on stuff that can shift and preban where they all quite game ? Like was said before not all minshaws liked the sharp end of things, i had two both dogs and was quite lucky mine took redcoats and reds fairly well, but some didnt. What percentage of minshaw and bull cross are the dogs you are running at the mo ?ATB Freelance
  7. Does any one on hear speak fluent whin and can be an interpreter, jesus whin if they would have had you in world war two old gerry would of never have cracked the codes !!!
  8. Good thread lads keep it going, nice to see the old pics. Rabbithunter your dog tyson is a real nice stamp, reminds me of a grandson of bulpa, a pup i had in the 90,s who was a similar stamp to yours. I also had another minshaw dog with lines to blue and seen a few run in the 90,s. Them dogs put plenty of gear to bed, but i also think it was the men behind the dogs as well that were out at all opportunities and going to good ground and a bit hot as well at times. I think the dogs were a good line and had plenty of wind in there tanks and drive as well, but were only as good as the men behind t
  9. Not really their farmers a proper c*nt and would just shoot them and their dogs and anyway it'd mean folks getting away from their comps and walking the walk with a dog.  A lot started tanning the dales when Hosker and spud wrote about there antic,s . Thats when myself and my old collie cross cur in an old battered mk 1 golf and a lot of other folk decided to have a snoop around them dales and find some spots were they the stories from the shooting news, early 90s or something like that! Thats the one matey

  11. I think with a lot of the younger lads, it seems as though there more interested in bragging and showing off to the world wide web than just enjoying actual dog work. I mean take a look at them little sh*ts that were rioting and then bragging on facebook of what they had stolen, they deserved everything they got. My opinion is that the internet and mobile phones ruined the dog game. I really do think its sad that so many children and adults spend so much of there time on facebook !
  12. Unfortunately i have to agree, i don't think we will ever see it. We just have to enjoy what sport we have left.
  13. You are right there TOMO... Things were certainly different in the 70s and 80s, well at least darn sarf... I did see a handful of deer pics that the Forest lads had,..they were crumpled up , barely recognisable old images of Sika and Fallow hanging by their heels waiting to be taken to the dodgy game dealers..,but I never saw many rabbit photos. The biggest collection of pictures that I ever saw was in Cockermouth in Cumbria. The lads owned what they called Minshaw dogs. They had photo albums bursting at the seams with picture upon picture of hares and deers and rabbits,..amaz
  14. Had the good cop/bad cop scenario on a number of occassions, some of them really need to join RADA and get an Equity Card,no fan of the police in any way, shape, nor form BUT nowadays the countryside after dark isnt straw-chewing yokels and one for the pot,its often gangs of lads from inner-cities lifting anything thats not screwed, nailed,or welded down, not all lads, dont get me wrong, but there is an element that tarnish the rest, the average farmer is just trying to earn a living, they dont really deserve petty-thefts,property damage, and associated threats, getting pulled is par for the course in so
  15. Was you on permission both nights and was you local or on an away trip, its not as easy these days when you get stopped 150 miles away from home in a different county and you have strange out of town accents to explain your just after a couple of bunnies, you get good cops and bad cops as you do with poeple in all walks of life, it just seems a lot harder these days to explain yourself s.
  16. a wouldnt bother mate just take it on chin an be polite if they pull you again beleive me you cant win the authoritys if you rub em up wrong way they will get you one way or another an they will be looking for slightest little slip up you make an they will come down on you like a ton of bricks.. police solicitors crown prosicution they all piss in same pot dont make your mistake by pissing the wrong police officers off cause beleive me you will pay corruption is ryfe in the judicial system be polite as you can be to p[olice an treat with just a little respect end of day theyve got a job to
  17. Whats the best out of these two vehicles for MPG and general reliability. I have heard that the older 3.1 Trooper is a better bet than the 3.0 model. I know a lot say Disco,s are about the best on MPG, but a lot of them don't seem as in as good condition for same amount of money as a Terrano or Trooper. I cover a fair distance to get to my lamping grounds mostly by motorway and at the moment am in a van which is fairly cheap to run, now i know a 4x4 is going to put a dent in my pocket fuel wise, but would like to give one a go again. So have any of you lads ran either of these models or what
  18. Good stuff lads, its getting a bit more awkward now when you get a puller by the boys in blue and especially if your a few hours away from home in a different county. But keep cracking at them as i said again good stuff lads well done.
  19. Cheers, had two myself in the 90,s and seen a few run. Was happy with mine, keep up the good work and ignore the folk who slag them, happy days ATB
