  1. Mines insured, does it cover working injuries normally? TBH Ive never read the policy
  2. Must admit sometimes she'll empty the bowl in seconds and other times over a period of hours.
  3. cheers gafer, thanks for the help mate. you might be right on the ears, there is nothing else thats anywhere near saluki.
  4. Bit subjective but bear with me. Ive a 7 months old Bitch, Deer x Grey and I think Saluki too (huge long ears). Looking at her diet and the food we feed I notice some of the amounts to feed her are based upon her 'target adult weight'. Now then, how the f**k can i tell that? At the moment at 7 months she is 21 1/2" tts, cant recall her weight but she looks pretty 'right'. Anyone have any experience of a similar bitch cross and her 'target' adult weight. I assume she will be full grown at 18 or so months?
  5. Good luck mate, tried here? http://www.scottishspca.org/rehoming/centres/4_caithness-sutherland or the Dogs Trust? http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/contactus/default.aspx Lost of lost dogs end up here
  6. Hello mate, how dod this go? Any issues with bones etc I like the idea of the oils and what not in fish but Id be nervous of bones getting swallowed/caught
  7. Im always weary of dog food manufacturers saying what right or not, I dont doubt there knowledge etc but they are gpoing to say anything that isnt there own is not as good as there own??? I feed mine small amounts of pasta as she tends to eat better. Dry food gets a bit boring Id have thought, nice to mix it up. I add some beef on occasion too
  8. Lovely dog mate! Seen mixy in West Herts a few months back
  9. No, she is a rescue dog. Had a rescue lurcher before and it was all i could do to keep it in the same county as me once it was off the lead. This one was found lost up North at 5 months. She has none of the usual rescue dog traits though. Im amazed by her natural thinking and canny nouse. She can be cheeky and a bit too clever sometimes but Im hoping Im onto a good dog and looking forward to training us both onto lamping and lure coursing in time to come. At the moment, Im just letting us find our ways together. Her sit/stay is improving and recall is too. Blown away really. Thanks for
  10. She's 7 months, currently 21" to her shoulders and 15kg/2 stone, these were taken at 6 months; Im not sure of the cross, I think she is grey x deer but Im not sure what else. I was told she had some Saluki but Im not certain of that. Ill take some more up to date pics, these are month old as I say, thanks for any advice
  11. Darent get too excited but after this mornings stroll through the early Autumn wind and rain my young pup Annabel who is coming on so well is now coming back to me without me calling. Aside from the usual galloping/hunting around, she picked out 3 or 4 things she wanted to chase. I just stood stock still an after each run, waited for her to return, only once she had a sniff before returning. I always have a treat in my right hand and I find holding it by my side she returns to that hand each time. Early days but its a promising start. Just got to get her coming back with something in h
  12. Thats a good read, thanks, Apologies if im hijacking here but, my Bitch is 7 months and is improving all the time. One question from me though, accepting that the 'right time' is probably when the dog and owner is confident of each other, but what is a good age for a Bitch to start working?
  13. fantastic, you must be very happy with that
  14. Getting a longdog pup last month has re-kindled my interest in matters relating to field sports, she'll be out and about lure coursing next year I hope. I thought I ought join a forum as its a while since I attended any shows/events. I shall head for the Hertfordshire Country Fair in Redbourn in September. Should be fun seeing how she fairs in the under 12 months dash! Ive enjoyed Fly Fishing, Ferrets, a bit of pigeon and Pheasant shooting, clays, beating etc over the years. Looking forward to the years ahead with the Families beautiful new bitch Annabel! This is her at 6 m
